Hi,

I'm Mark, hailing from long island ny. After cruising a local mall i decided to purchase a e-cig from one of those mall vendors (after lurking thru this board i know this was a bad idea). Way over paid for a kit. Paid $140 for a Signature Vapor kit. Altho it did come with quite a few "extras" i still overpaid.

One day while sitting in traffic someone in the car next to me really quickly suggested that i check out this forum. So here i am. Im sorry but i dont remember who this person was (but thanks anyway). I guess i am here to learn as much as possible about my kit & how to save $ over analogs & not to get ripped off further by that mall vendor.

The "platinum" kit i recieved for $140 came with the following:

2 automatic batteries
5 cartomizers
1 tiny bottle of no name juice (i chose watermellon)
and one of those on the go charging cases (i believe it's called a pcc)

I can take pictures of everything to help identify exactly what i have, but unfortunately the literature that comes with my kit does not say which & what i have. Nor does signatures vapor website have a 1-800 number i can call to confirm or deny what i have either.

Mark

I almost made the same mistake and bought a kit over the internet that was way overpriced and way under value, but I found ECF before I pushed the "Buy" button. There are a lot of retailers out there taking advantage of people's ignorance. I would just chalk it up as a learning experience, and scour ECF for advise before your next purchase, and use suppliers that patronize ECF. There are a lot of good ones. Anyway, welcome to vaping and ECF.

Dude, your complaining about 140 bucks?? i bought my super startup kit from v2cigs.com and even though i paid 139 or something, i dont care, you would have spent 140 bucks in no time if you were smoking regular cigarettes. a carton is almost that price now. I live in NY also, so i know. I did go to myvaporstore.com and purchase new batteries for my br808d-1 i think its called. Got them there for 12 bucks in stead of 20 bucks at V2cigs. Almost all the products at myvaporstore were darn near half price as V2, but who cares about a few bucks when it comes to quitting smoking. BTW V2cigs has an excellent customer service, which as a first time buyer i didnt mind paying extra for.

yes i am aware i have 2 different colored batteries, One of the batteries i got in the original kit went bad & would charge. So the kiosk guy exchanged it for the only model he had available (which was black). Personally i dont care.

the battery is 2 3/4" (including led tip) long & 3/8ths" wide. The cartomizer is 1 1/2" long (including threads).

the whole thing assembled is 4 1/8th" long.

i like it, vapor production is pretty good (atleast for me) it keeps me happy.

I was not complaining about the $140. I've saved that atleast since i stopped smoking real cigs & switched to vapor. $12 a pack (i work in nyc) was just crazy. Even paying the kiosk fee of $25 for a little bottle of juice (which is supposed to be a carton of real cigs) is better than the $100+ i was paying.

Since joining the site i found out about johnson creek juice, so i ordered a bottle of the island flavor. $9 buck is a pretty good price.

Hi, Mark! I'm also new to vaping and like you, I spent way too much money on my kit. I'm not completely unhappy with what I got, but after I found this place I realize that I could've done a lot better and spent half the bucks. Oh well. I'll chalk it up as a learning experience. I just broke down and ordered juice and a 501 PT today. I plan on getting an eGo starter kit this Friday.

Hey Mark LI also. The mall kits aorund here are over priced. Figure Roosevelt Field, Walt Whitman or SmithHaven Malls have a huge overhead of rent that they have to boost the prices. I started with a Blu and Volcano mail order that my friend got me into . And got both with 25 carts for about that price. This was a good start but I went to 510's and have a few rn4081's that arent to shabby. I dont need alot of vapor and do some mods to create more but my friend picked up 2 egos for 69$ with everything so if you want more definetly look around. The more you look the more you learn. I would have done things differently if I knew now.........

yes, if it doesn't bug you having to switch out the batts every couple of hours then stick with what you've got.

I got the eGo because the short battery life on my 510 bugged me so much. With the eGo I don't have to switch out the batteries any more, I just leave the house with a charged one and I'm good to go all day.

i guess i'll just have to keep my options open then. Maybe when this kit dies, but im sure something newer & cooler will come along

Yes, the technology is always evolving. It's amazing. Wait a few months and something even better will come along. As long as it works for you now then have fun!

I'm with Rosa on this one. If your current set up is keeping you happy, then keep using it. The only thing that bothers me about my current kit is the battery life stinks. Then again, I'm vaping like crazy, so it's probably that these batteries can't keep up with me! LOL!

The 501's and eGo's are highly recommended by a lot of people here. Since I need something with a better battery life, a PT and eventually a full on eGo are more than likely the best choices for me. You need to go with whatever is going to make you happy and give you the greatest vaping satisfaction.

That looks like the same set up as the volcano / blu .... if that is the case the 510 atty will work with the batteries. I went through Totally wicked for mine and the price is somewhat reasonable. I still buy my atty's from them. You will notice a huge difference by switching the atomizers with that battery. Though the battery life will be much lower. Also with the 510 atomizers you can refill your cartridges really easily.
