Hi everyone! I'm a total noob, in fact, I am still awaiting the arrival of my starter kit. Don't hate me, but yeah, I went with the Blu. I did read through many threads here and elsewhere online about the different models available, but I felt this would be a simple and relatively inexpensive kit to start with, plus I like the way it looks. I will probably order future accessories and supplies from Volcano since I've heard their compatible stuff is better. I ordered the Blu Sunday and I'm hoping to see it today, but should definitely have it by tomorrow. All I know is, I want it NOW so I can hopefully get off these analogs!

I'm really curious to see how vaping compares to smoking an analog and the different flavors seem intriguing. Personally, I'm hoping to use vaping to taper myself down to zero nicotine. I'd also like to get my husband to make the switch. He was skeptical when I first mentioned e-cigs, but I think he's kinda curious now.

As of right now, I'm thinking I just want something simple and easy to use/low maintenance that meets my needs and satisfies my cravings. I'm curious how many others felt that way at first but then still wound up finding themselves getting into buying lots of different models, the mods, dipping and dripping and all that. One of my reasons for wanting to try vaping is because it seems like it could save some money, but the more I read, the more I can see where it can also become an expensive hobby....lol.

Welcome to ECF! You've just entered the wonderful world of vaping. Good luck with your Blu. I started with the Volcano. Soon moved on to a 901 auto before abandoning it for an eGo. I now own several mods and a couple of passthroughs and have no desire for a cigarette. If you are going for low maintenance you might take a look at the KR808D-1 with prefilled cartomizers. These are two piece e-cigs and you can get a kit from VaporJunction for 24.95. All you need to do is charge the batteries and order more prefilled cartos in you favorite flavors. Keep us posted on your progress!

I use a Volcano and am happy with it. It takes a day or so to break in the atty when its new which can be speeded up by cleaning it under hot water. Once its broken in you will get much better vapor and flavor.

I know you're looking at low maintenance, but to get the most out of any e-cig there are some steps that need to be taken. Personally I don't really care for the factory carts but you may love them. I use my own juice with them and it makes the PV perform much better.

Down the road if you're looking at getting another type of PV, look at the Joye 510 or the Volcano Magma. Other than chargers, all of the parts are interchangeable.

Good luck with your Blu, and welcome to the forum!

Hi Martyjo. I ordered an e-cig that is similar to the Blu. I've only been at it about a week. Like you, I wanted something simple to get off cigarettes. As I read here I keep thinking "ohhh I want that", etc. but I decided to stick with what I have for a few weeks.

For the first few days I smoked a few regular cigarettes and today will be day 2 of 0 regular cigarettes. For me finding the right nicotine level was key.

If I end up going to a different model in the future what I purchased was still worth every penny. It introduced me to vaping and I've been able to figure out what works for me without spending hundreds.
