Been vape'n for a few weeks now, and all I can say is WOW. What an eye opener! I never thought that there would be such a vibrant community abroad! Reminds me of the RC car scene, it truly does! Mods, upgrades, custom builds, wraps and most importantly, people that are eager and willing to chat and share experiences and knowledge!

In the past year I noticed a few friends and peeps in the various smoking sections I frequent using ecigs and the cheaper APV's. I asked a few questions about it, but I never paid much attention to them (the devices). To me, at the time, it all seemed like a fad due to the cheapness of the units they were using, and how little vapour that was produced.

Then one day a buddy of mine from work showed up with an APV and I gave it a serious look-over and asked him about it. He loved it and said that he had no desire at all for a smoke and that cigs tasted horrible. He was vape'n a fruity tobacco juice which kinda reminded of sheesha, and I really enjoyed smoking sheesha when I was in the middle east. It was at that point that I decided to take the plunge, but I knew that I had to do some research before committing to it.

I lucked out and had to go to the States for a business trip and that's when I decided to look for a brick'n'mortar shop in order to make a somewhat informed purchase. I also was at the point that I knew I wanted to quit smoking. Gum and lozenges just weren't cutting it, especially when drinking and/or socializing with friends.

So oddly enough after work one day, I had about 2 smokes left in my pack, I smoked one before getting into the car to go to the mall and then I smoked the last one in the parking lot before going into the mall. There, I found a small up and coming vape shop and I was pretty impressed with the vendor. NO up-selling, and he literally spend 2 hours with me showing me all the ins'n'outs of vape'n. I wound up buying a Kanger EVOD setup with a couple tanks and few juices. It was a little on the pricey side, but for all the time the vendor spent with me, I figured it was money well spent. I vaped for three days without a cig! Then one night I bummed one off a friend, just to see if I missed it, and I couldn't even finish it! It was horrible!

So a few days later I was still happy with my purchase, however, I wanted to be sure that I got a good deal and that all the info was good. I needed a second opinion on gear, and more importantly I wanted to try some more juices. I was on a hunt for flavour! I also realized that ONE battery was not going to do it for me, I needed more gear! I also knew that I was hooked. At this point I was 3 days without a cig, and the smell of cigs really bothered me.

On the first weekend on this trip I found a KILLER vape lounge! It had all the gear, higher end, lower end, DIY stuff and AWESOME staff. And the best part, a vape bar with TONS of juices! My buddy and I spent 3 hours there! And after those three hours, we knew everyone in the lounge! Everyone was chatting and vape'n and sharing stories and setups! I have never been to a bar or a store where all the customers/strangers were hanging out like old friends! It was at this point I realized that this is a very special group of people, and vape'n is more than a fad. This experience actually restored my faith in humanity. People helping people, sharing and caring and interacting without regard of social status, ethnic backgrounds, cliques/dressing styles, and age. Everyone in that store, had a common battle and that united them/us. That is what I witnessed that day in the vape lounge, it forever changed me.

I wound up coming out of that store with some new gear and some awesome juice! I also got something more, the desire to find more Vapour Lounges! I did find another one a week later, and you know what happened? I had the same type of experience! I spent another 3 hours there chatting with everyone! It was a blast, and I wound up buying some more juices and few more tanks!

So I get back home, and I was worried because where I live getting NIC in the juices can be a little tricky and there aren't many stores that sell them. The juices I got on my trip were awesome, and I knew it would be a risk to get them shipped to me as customs are known to confiscate shipments if they contain NIC. I have found some online suppliers and I am actively trying new juices and looking at doing some mods on wicks. I am bummed though that there are no vapour lounges in the area I live. It's a bummer, as I really enjoy the atmosphere at a vapour lounge. If you have not been to one, I highly recommend finding one! It's funny, now when I travel with work, I will be looking for vapour lounges to visit!

So right now I am rockin an iTaste MVP 2.0 with a Protank 2, Mini Protank 2 and a few cheap EVOD tanks. I love the MVP so far, but I fear that it is not going to do what I foresee I need it to do.....muahahaha. I am leary of any of the cylindrical MODS, they look to techno-phalic/girly to me...hehe, I like the look of box style MODS.

Flavours I'm Diggin': RY4, love the sweet finish, looking for a good strawberry/peach to blend with it to make sheesha
Mountain DEW, my ATF/ADV especially blended with some blueberry and grape!

So there is my story, sorry if its kind of long winded....I am usually not this talkative, especially on forums! I need to get my posts up so that I can get to the other sections to ask some questions and "get my learn on".

I am in for the long haul, literally :vapor:
