ok so Ive been reading and getting more confused with each sentence lol but I think Im finally ready to get started Id just like to get a few things confirmed. Ive decided to go with a 510 model. I know theres more advanced/better options but I want something simple and Im not a super heavy smoker 15-20/day

ok so heres my questions
since all the parts are the same and interchangeable does it matter who I get my starter kit from. It seems like the more expensive ones just have a fancier look but are essentially the same as the cheap ones. I was thinking of getting something like this http://enjoy........../free-joyetech-liquid-joye-510t-wh510.html

Im looking to get dense hits so what liquid should I use? pg/vg?
what extras should I buy? batteries/attys/etc
I know this is subjective but how many hits can I get off one cartridge? how many cartridges can be filled from "x" mls of juice?

I bought a throw away e cig before for 20 or 30$ and felt totally ripped off but if its easy/cheap to replace batteries and refill my own carts it seems like this could really work out for me

thanks in advance for any answers/suggestions

Ok so I want to tell you that not all parts are interchangable. If you are looking for an inexpensive but great ecig I would sugest smokeless image. but I wouldnt buy any ecig with cartos. I would go to smokelessimage.com and go to accesories and build your own kit. I would go with 2 batteries at least a charger. thier ce carts which are carts that do not leak and hold more liquid, and dont get that empty taste you get from low carts.. and I would suggest buying a bottle of juice from them. RY4 is one of my favs from them. if you were going to buy juice from like madvapes or someone I personally like more vapor so I am more of a vg guy. but usually i dontlike doing more then 50pg/50vg.

As ebutchart said, not all e-cig parts are compatible or interchangeable. Some have an 808-thread and some have a 510-thread. And many of the rip-off companies do not disclose which thread their devices use. Some even customize their thread making their stuff proprietary so that even if you know what thread they use, other competitors' stuff will not fit correctly.

I realize that this information is confusing, but I'm just trying to inform you of the facts. The e-cig industry is new and growing by leaps and bounds, and many disreputable companies are jumping in to make a quick buck.

Before making any purchase of a starter e-cig kit, please do yourself a favor and ask the good experienced people here at ECF to evaluate what you are considering to buy. Posting a link helps us to judge the quality of the product and whether it is an honest deal or a rip off.

Having said that, I agree with the aforementioned Smokeless Image recommendation. This is the company that I researched and chose as my starters kit. Quality equipment, reputable company with good customer service and fast shipping. I strongly recommend going with the biggest battery that you would feel comfortable using. Most new vapors want a cigarette look-alike initially, and I totally understand that.

But be forewarned, the bigger the battery the better the performance and the more satisfied you will be with any product. You will soon tire very quickly of needing to change out a dead battery for a newly charged one every 2-3 hours. The Volt X2 batteries last 7-13 hours, a convenience that you may not understand at this stage of the game.

Welcome, there is a ton of information on here and you are right it can be very confusing at first. When I first started out I felt like I was reading another language!! I also started with a cheapy e-cig that didn't last more than 3 hours and took over 8 to charge. I decided to go with a Riva 510-t and purchased a kit. At first I thought I had made a huge mistake but after a few modifications it worked like a dream. I bought some cartomizers and a drip tip and was super happy.

This is just my opinion but I would not put a bunch of money into your first kit. I still use my 510 batteries and after 3-4 months I purchased the EGO twist. I would buy at least two batteries to start out with. This way one is always charged.

I use the Boge cartomizers. I have tried tanks but I keep going back to the basic. I don't mind having to refill often. As far as hits I think it all depends on how well you fill it the first time. I also think it depends on the type of juice and how big of hits you take. I usually switch out my carts every two weeks. I also vape the same liquid every day so I don't have to switch it out for different flavors. Check out Phil Busardo on You Tube. His videos are very helpful when you are just starting out.

I would use a pg/vg blend. Buy sample packs at first until you find the right flavor, vapor production and throat hit. Try different vendors too, they are all different. I went through 10-15 different ones until I found the right one for me. Once you are off analogs for good you will notice your taste buds will change and what you may have enjoyed at first you may hate later.

The most important thing is to not get frustrated and go back to analogs. I found myself many times almost going back just because it was eaiser. Just keep trying until you find what works best for you. Good luck!! You have come to the right place. If I had not found this forum I would probably still be smoking almost 2 packs a day!!!!!

hey thanks for the replies everyone! I checked out SI and Ive got my shopping cart ready to go just waiting a little before I hit "buy"

Ive got the 20$ starter kit an extra batt, 5 blank cartos, the mega charging case and 2 30ml bottles of juice at 6mg. I know thats low but I thought Ill wanna vape more so should I just get a lower potency so I dont get sick??? anything Im missing??

the price of all this is 100$ Im sure I spend a little more than that on cigs every month so thats cool if two 30ml bottles will last a month

I know this cant be answered without a lot of details but can someone give a rough estimate on how long 30ml will last? or how many hits per ml?

Hi and welcome! I think most people buy their juices from different sites, I certainly do. I buy from a lot of different vendors, as I have yet to find one that has everything I want at a good price; it tends to be cartos here, juice there and tanks at still another.

Personally, I don't buy juices from sites where you can't customize the pg/vg ratio or boost/sweeten flavors. I don't about SI, but in the beginning when I didn't know about juices I found that the sites which don't tell you the ratio, often sell 100% pg.

another thing...I dont see anything on SI showing what the juice is actually made from. it seems maybe I should use a diff site just for the juice??

Finding a couple of good e-juice flavors that you will enjoy vaping throughout the day is probably as important as finding the right devices. And it is difficult for other vapors to make recommendations of what you will like as juice flavors are so subjective individual to individual. What one person loves, another person might find disgusting. I do recommend that you try a variety of flavors besides a tobacco flavor. There are menthols, fruits, deserts, candies, coffee's, "adult beverages", etc.

The best method is purchase juice from a couple different vendors a month by ordering sampler packets. That way you don't waste money on juice flavors that you may not care for. Once you find a flavor or two that you like you order more in a larger size bottle. You likely will be on a search for new flavors for a few months until you find several that you will enjoy to use in a daily rotation.

Figure on vaping 3-5ml of juice a day. I personally would go a little higher on the nicotine level to at least 12mg. With the sampler packs, you often do not get to choose the nicotine level, but when you order specific flavors in a larger size, you generally can pick the nic strength, pg/vg ratio, extra flavoring added, sweetness added, menthol added for coolness (nice with fruit flavors).

I'm not certain what the Smokeless Image juice pg/vg ratio is. It is either 100% pg or an 80pg/20vg ratio. I do like their Ice Menthol, should you be a menthol cigarette smoker. I also like their Classic Grape. Their other flavors, not so much. Your result may vary.

A couple of my favorite vendors that offer sample packs are listed below. Vaperite currently has a 20% off sale with the coupon code of "20 OFF" at checkout.

Vaperite | E Liquid Flavors and Organic E Cigarette Liquid

Organically Flavored E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Also, be aware that many of the custom-ordered juices benefit from a few days to two weeks steep time. If you don't care for the flavor upon delivery, don't throw it away, but set it aside for a week or so and try it again.

Hi gator!, welcome to ECF. Everybody here is giving you good advice. I have not used Smokeless Image Volt, but they are overwhelmingly popular. They will not fit your existing 510 equipment, I believe they are an 808 threading (someone correct me).

In general it's good to get enough 'spare pieces' (and chargers) so you can have at least a couple of working devices at a time. I read that Volts have good battery life, but while a cig-a-like shape can be important starting out, the realities of battery life will be more important later on.

Try several sample packs of juice, but if you find one you like, don't go overboard and buy a gallon. Your taste will be changing in the next few weeks/months. What is great now, may not be later.

Stick with it, sounds like you are off to a good start.

wow thanks so much everyone for answering my questions Im so close to finally getting started! one last thing Im having trouble with now is getting a good pcc. I removed the SI one from the shopping cart and am looking for a better option if anyone has suggestions, I like the ones that look like a cig pack

and can anyone clarify if these are 510 or 808?

All of Smokeless Image's gear is 808 threaded. They intentionally do that to keep things simple for the new and intermediate vapors and actually use that as a selling point for their products.

I would have to see a link for the PCC that looks like a cig pack. Otherwise, might be wise to stick with Smokeless Image's chargers. I believe they offer two styles.

I went with an SI starter kit and a couple of sampler packs to start. Love the Ice Menthol. Definitely agree with buying bottles of liquid once you find flavors you like; even the standard cartridges are very easy to refill. They do have two portable chargers--I got the smaller PCC and don't have any complaints with it.

thanks for the feedback! Ill be purchasing the mega case hopefully it preforms as good as the smaller one, not sure why theyre the same price tho:confused:

Yeah, I think I would do the same if I were starting over. I went with the smaller one to be sure it would fit in my pocket, but from the measurements the Mega doesn't seem all that much bigger...

You select the flavor and strength of the cartridges from the page where you order the kit.
