510 Vision eGo Tank Kit
has a stronger battery so why not

This is the set up I purchased for myself. I didn't order through madvapes but it's the same thing. I just received it today and have been using it for the past 12 hours now. Have felt no need to grab an analog...meanwhile right now I have 5 packs sitting on my desk that might end up just getting tossed. I don't have long term exposure to it to give you an opinion of it through time but from my research there is some upgrading that you can do along the way and so far I'm very pleased with it.

Whatever you do end up choosing, good luck with quitting the nasty real deals!

It really depends on how much you have to spend. I spent 2 months doing research. Reading these forums for hours on end. Then reading multiple reviews of the products people recommended. You get what you pay for with apv's. Look around at posts of Provari and Lavatube and you'll see many people that started out with all kinds of different mods and end up getting one of the better (granted more expensive) mods. They explain why in their posts. Before you throw good money after bad like I did before I did my homework, spend some time reading. You'll save yourself grief and money in the long run.

Hi Dom,
i don't think you need a mod just yet. The Rivas are good, so are the bigger Joyetech Egos, or if you want entry level variable voltage, the Ego twist.
They are all 510 threaded so you can use 510 accessories with any of them. I would suggest picking one of those, and getting two of them. You always need a back up battery.
Then I suggest you buy some blank cartomizers, which you can fill with your own juice. Cartomizers are easy to use and always good as a back up if your clearomizer or tank is giving you trouble.

When choosing a battery you'll see a mah number. For example, Joyetech Ego, 1000mah. 100 mah = approx 1 hour of vaping. 1,000 mah would give you around 10 hours vaping - maybe a little less. So you can get a good idea from the mah how much vaping time you'll have before needing to recharge. These kind of batteries typically come in 650 mah or higher up to about 1,000 mah.

Hi Dom, I have been off the stinks for a little over 5 weeks. What I noticed is alot of people will upgrade shortly after they start vaping as in my case. Now I recently went from smoov to young june lavatube vv. I still use the smoov when I am out, and the lavatube at home. I like the smoov brand but I needed 3 batteries to get through the day. I would personally recomend buying the best you can in the begining and avoid the many upgrades in the future. This way you can spend more on different juices and you will. Good luck on quitting the stink sticks.

I bought that as my first as well. It worked great for a week, then the juice stopped flowing to the atty properly and gave me dry hits. I was able to get it to work after some tinkering, but wound up changing over to using eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers. Ego batteries are great, but I find the carts to just be superior to the tanks.

Lots of great advice being given, but I'd like to recommend the battery+cartomizer setup at first for the sheer simplicity, foolproof-ness, and low cost for very decent performance. Boge and Kanger cartomizers are great -- get Low Resistance ones at about 2.0ohms since you like throat hits.

It's only two total parts, there's no chance of leaking, the cartomizers cost pretty much nothing if you burn it dry, and if something does go wrong like you get a dud, you only lose like 1ml of juice.

For simple measures I would try an ego twist kit with a 6ml cartomizer tank and some 24 mg nicotine 100%pg juice. That will give you the burning throat hit and ease of use your looking for. As for venders that is for you to decide finding a physical store is nice but if not most vendors on ecf are good I personally use smoktek.com and gotvapes.com for most my hardware

Yep. I second that recommendation. This way you have something to vape on while researching all the advanced stuff!!!
-Bullette the Cowdog, happily vaping on a Kgo + Smoketech 1.7 cartomizer @ 24 mg nicotine.

See as you can tell people blurt out whatever they are bias to I am going to tell you get any manual cig sized battery .... People say save the money jump right away to avoid an upgrade .... That's great if you know what you are doing all ready!!!!!

Look at it this way when we are born do we come out running? No we go slow and we learn.

Also on a vv if you don't know what you are doing you can blow clearomizers voltage to high voltage too low why isn't this tasting right..... Annoyance is what causes people to throw it in a Corner to be never looked at again

In short I am not saying that people aren't trying to help you because they are but when your just starting out you want the no fuss no mess just vape away like you are used to with analogs ... Do a lot of research blu is a hit and miss cig a lot of people like v2 a lot of people like greensmoke but its pricey still less than cigs tho then there is bloog and redd which are awesome

It really does come down to you but I mean if your used to a cig where you just pull it out and go this is the direction I say you take until you get used to it then go for a twist!!!

I mean I am just starting out as well (6days on ecigs 6 days off analogs) if I had to mess around with too much I would be going so well

If you wanted to try a tank im sure either of those is fine to start with. Just read reviews on them and decide. My opinion though is that you start off with just the cartomizers, i fear that if you get a tank or something that could become "fiddley" you may have created an excuse to go back to regular cigs. Keep it simple untill you have been off cigs for awhile.

Battery, Juice, Cartomizer, Charger. then go from there.

Domcap,

Your first choice: Ego Dual Coil Cartomizer 3.5 mL Tank Kit appears to be a good one. I started with Smokless Image Volts and although they are not the same "threads" (they are KR808D1 not 510) they are another choice to look at. The kit above seems to have everything you need to start with both cartomizers and a tank. I personally clean and refill my cartomizeres and enjoy the stronger flavor over a tank, but everything in vaping is subjective, especially flavors.

I started with, and am still using an ego-C stater kit. I figured it was the best way to get an intro (although a friend "hipped" me to it) into e-cigs... now that I've learned more about PVs I can't complain about the start-up cost/ effectiveness... you've got to try things out before you find what you like and I feel a starter kit is a good way to go.

Hi dom, Im new to ecigs to.. i got the ego-c 1000mAh... before i was a pack a day smoker for the last 18 years. I found that with the ejuice with nicotine (18mg strentgh) i get the hit i got with analogs. The only thing i have found is that it sometimes leaks fluid out the side .. but then I think thats more my technique rather than the device. The battery also heats up (im not sure if thats normal) but with starter kits you get two so you can alternate?
Im sure you can get a starter kit where you are (im in australia). Anyways.. I hope you get it all sorted out! Im still learning about this new world so Ill keep you posted! K.
