Another noob checkin' in!

Hey all..

I quit analogs at the end of December when a bout of pneumonia landed me in the hospital for New Year's Eve. I saw COPD in my future, and decided that I didn't want to go that route. So, my doc put me on the patch, and I have been using them since (a little over two weeks now). Unfortunately, the patch is now irritating my skin to the point that when I remove it I have a bright red itchy circle where the patch once was

Meanwhile a friend mentioned e-cigarettes to me, and how she quit smoking by using the Blu. I had never heard of e-cigs before, so I went to the Blu website and checked them out. I became intrigued with the idea that I could still get my nicotine "fix" AND enjoy the "action" of smoking (something that I really miss), but not cause ill effects to my health. I was ready to order a Blu, but being someone who researches everything to the nth degree, I came across this website and read the not-so-good reviews of the Blu and it's customer service.

So I've been lurking here for a couple days, wading through the plethora of useful information (thanks!!) and have decided to go with the MV Sidesho. I just have to wait until payday to order it, so I guess my skin will have to suffer for another week... ugh.

Anyway, that's my story, nice to meet you all!

welcome, the patch left a boil on my arm after about 10 minutes. I get bronchial infections quite often. I am hoping this year will be different with the vapor king.

I'm also a noob to vaping and this forum. I got my intellicig on 12-24-2009 and haven't looked back. Let us know when you get your Sidesho and how you like it. Personally, I have been having some side effects from vaping. Mostly feeling dehydrated which is compounded by the ridiculously dry cold air this season, but since I have increased water intake this has mostly resolved. I also had a bad skin reaction with the patches and WOW crazy dreams. Keep us updated.

The dehydration is caused from the PG and VG. Just be sure to drink plenty of water.

Welcome! Vaping is such a blessing for us night shift folks. I work at a hospital in rural missouri and they've recently banned tobacco products on their premises which sucked to say the least..I then discovered E-Cigs and have been vaping ever since. Needless to say all of the other nurses have picked it up as well Nothing like vaping at the nursing station

I can deal w/a little dehydration - I need to drink more H20, anyway!

Yeah, I hated going outside for a smoke at work - had to be sneaky because we too have a "no smoking anywhere on the premises" policy, and I just didn't like coming back in smelling like smoke and then taking care of patients.

@ dwillings - do you really vape at the nurse's station? wow.. haha..

Another thing - Michigan is banning smoking in all bars/restaurants as of May 1st, so vaping will be a good way around that.

Something else that I wanted to mention - I've read a lot of good things about the customer service @ Modern Vapor, and I'm happy to say that they are true. I had some questions, so I sent an email via the customer service link on the website, and Tony responded within a half hour. I was way impressed - they have just landed me as a customer for sure

I tried the patch a few yrs ago but I got started on to low of nicotine or something. Thats the nice thing about e-cigs is you can regulate your nic intake. It's working for me. Good luck.
