Hello all, first off I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Alex and I live in Michigan, USA. I've been interested in e-smoking for a while and have been doing some fairly extensive research using the internet and other resources. I've been lurking on these boards for a while and so far I have found you guys to be both extremely knowledgeable and also very receptive and helpful. I thank you kindly for that.
I have a lot of experience with a wide range of psychoactives including but not limited to Nicotine, THC, and many others.
I'm 19 years old and have been smoking 1/2-1 packs of traditional cigarettes per day for about four to five years. I've recently decided that for the obvious health reasons I no longer wish to continue smoking. For me, e-smoking seems to be the obvious choice.
I haven't yet purchased an e-smoking device and that's where I've got a few questions. I'm now well-versed with the various types of e-cigs available (penstyle, mini, super-mini, ect..) and I think I've decided that my first one will be a super-mini. I know that these units have their disadvantages when compared to the larger, less cigarette-like units. My reason for choosing the super-mini is simply that I want a device that looks similar to an acutal cigarette. I've found that so much of my addiction to smoking is not only in the nicotine but also in the actual act of smoking. I love holding a cigarette, blowing smoke-rings and also the social/fellowship aspect of smoking. I think this aspect would be hindered to some extent by carring around and chiefing on a devide that looks more like a pen than a cig.
Here's where my question comes in; I'd like to know if the disadvantages to the super-mini's (specifically the DSE-103 unit) are significant enough that it isn't even worth buying. I know the carts and batteries don't last as long as with the larger units, and I'm willing to make that sacrifice to have an e-cig that looks like a regular cig. I think I'll compensate by buying some kind of liquid and a couple extra batts.
What should I order with my initial purchase? Obviously an e-cig, carts, and a charger. Should I invest in extra batteries/atomizers initially or will these be needed later in my vaping career?
What liquid should I buy? (I smoke both regular and menthol cigarettes)
Are there better (in quality/reliabiliy and also price) super-minis available than the DSE-103? If so what are they and where can I find them?
Any tips/tricks specifically for a 103 user?
I'm pretty sure I'm going to order the V2/DSE-103 starter package from Heaven Gifts on eBay. It comes with the DSE-103, 2 batteries, charger, car charger, 50 cartridges and a case for around $75-80USD.
Thanks a ton for any replies, comments, advice, answers ect..
I look forward to becoming an active poster on this forum and meeting some of you that I've already been acquainted with through your posts.
Thanks again and sorry for the excessive legnth of my first post.
Toke it up,
Alexander J. Nutkins.
