I heard about ecigs awhile back but never invested the time to do the research. I always had that dubious attitude towards them that questioned their quality, safety, and the general mechanics of these devices as well as their potential to replace my pack-a-day American Spirit smoking habit.

Curiosity took over, did some light research on the electronic cigarette and decided to take the plunge into what may potentially be a lifestyle change. I went with the 2-piece devices, cartomizers, simply out of simplicities sake. I started out with the GreenCig, and then tested the KR808D-1 because both cartomizers were refillable and both were interchangeable. My limited experience prefers the GreenCig for the smoother hit, volume of vapor, and ease of empty cart recognition. The KR808D-1 hits harsher but may mimic an analog in this manner more accurately. So far for both models, working consistency has not been an issue - one of the reasons I went with the simpler kits. Research, trial and error will continue.

My main concern revolves around the safety of these devices long term which ultimately speaks to what exactly I am inhaling (juice as well as device itself). However there is so much potential here, and rather than quit smoking (an undoubtedly unhealthy habit), this alternative adequately serves my oral and nicotine fixations. No more ash, no more butts, no more smoke, no more odor – not bad.

Just wanted to share my experience and introduce myself as I just found this New Members Forum. This community rocks.

I had health concerns too, but but just what in the world could be worse than smoking a real cigarette? The substances in the e-cig is PG and Nicotine...I just don't see how any rational person (no I am not a doctor) could say these things could be worse than the actual smokes that have 4,000 different chemicals in them.

Welcome flatty. I have a little concern over not knowing exactly what I am inhaling when I vape. I think of it this way, if you were dying of thirst, would you rather buy a bottle of generic Chinese water at a gas station or drink from the puddle in front of the gas pumps and downstream from the port-a-potty? (oh, and it costs more, too!)

My lungs and breathing feel so much better after 6 months of vaping, that I'm willing to take the risk.
