Hi, Jo Marsh, welcome to ECF! You are doing this the right way around, gathering information to help you be successful, which is great. If you have specific questions, by all means ask away. There are also some useful threads in the new members information forum (it's the one above this one once you enter, you can see it at the top of the page. A lot of the pinned threads have useful beginner information.

Welcome again, and I hope you enjoy your stay. :)

Welcome! I actually joined ecf too before getting my first e-cig. I too was a 40+ years smoker at 25-30 a day. Four months after joining I am under 5 per day. Everybody's path is different, but most here would agree that you should 1) find a reliable, no hassle device (and a back up) and 2) start searching for juice(s) that you enjoy. Please feel free to ask for suggestions on either.

Personally, I started with an e-cig called the Juul. I managed to cut my cigs per day in half, but realized I would need to graduate to a more powerful device if I was going to reduce more. At the suggestion of a member, I purchased an innokin T22 which was a real game changer. I have since acquired some slightly more sophisticated devices, but still use the T22 everyday.

For the last month or so I have been using naturally extracted tobacco juice from these people. That too was a game changer for me.

No doubt your path will be different.

The people here are really supportive and really knowledgeable. Stick around and you will learn a lot. Good luck!

Hi Jo, and welcome to ECF! Great idea to learn as much as you can. I lurked around here for quite a while before biting the bullet and making my first purchase. If you are anything like me your head will be spinning with all the new information! - but stick with it. Best thing I have done for years. Good luck!

Saying hey! I live in the UK; been smoking for about 45 years, rolling my own. Decided to give vaping a go.... So thought the first thing to do would be to sign up here, and learn a bit from those who are kind enough to share knowledge and experience.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Wow, it's so refreshing to read your introduction. Not many folks look before they leap. If you choose to read the information below, it will pay off in more ways than one.
It might be a good idea to ask the forum about any first purchases before you buy.
