Hi,

I first stumbled upon the myvic not long ago and immediately thought that I have to try this! I've "quit" smoking once before (lasted 5 months). For some reason back then I had no problems taking a break "cold-turkey". Now I do. I've bought chewing gums, inhalers...you name it. Yes, I can go without smoking but I hate doing it and you wouldn't want to be around me when I do ;)

So, what I want to do is try to use e-cigs as a method for kicking the nicotine addiction first, then eventually to try to get rid of the habit itself. I don't plan to use one as often as I would smoke a regular cig, I will rather have some puffs when I feel desperate and just have to.

Like others who are new to this, I am, after having browsed this forum and other sites for a few hours, still confused. When I found the myvic site I thought that was the only option out there and that it was completely new, once I discovered how many alternatives there are I'm getting a headache, like with shopping for anything on the Internet and trying to make a decision what to choose...

I think I've narrowed it down to either trying the myvic, janty mini fogger (btw, what is the difference between the kissboxes and other kits other than the price?), EVOlution or DSE901.

I'm sure I will have many, more detailed questions as I go along...

Any first advice, opinions or comments regarding those choices considering how/why I want to use one?

I own MiniFogger and DSE901. I would say that as first device generic 901 wins hands down really. I would say it is much better as a starter than EVO, because of rather problematic refilling of the EVO carts (same as MF). But I don´t own the EVO, this is just a guess.

Kissboxes used to be a novelty because of more power and swtich options. Today you can have very similar thing for much lower price here: http://www.ecigarettemall.com/

901 is a cig you will probably be returning to even after using much more expensive / higher praised devices.

EDIT: Just you wait, you fast-draw nun! Sooner of later I *will* beat you! :D

Been doing this HEAVY for about 3 weeks. Tried the Super Mini / Pee Wee, the DSE 901 and the Janty Mini Fogger so far.

For an average to heavy smoker - DSE 901. Good consistent vapor and longer battery life. Tho, the Super Mini is ok with dripping, batteries last 2-4 hours. Mini Fogger - it got me through some nights when my atomizer died and was waiting for a replacement, but it runs out of juice really quick, and there is a plastic taste even when dripping. The carts with the mini fogger, added even more unwanted tastes and smells to using it. But with dripping, it is usable, IMO.

To start - just get the DSE 901, some extra atomizers, extra batteries, and some Juice, and learn how to drip. That will give you the closest thing to regular smoking in my limited usage so far.

Thanks all for the input :)

It took me a while but I did go for the evo from intellicig. Got it today and so far hmm I don't really know what I think yet ;) The taste is ok but I find I have to suck really hard at it to get any smoke coming out. Also, some liquid seems to get on my lips, which I don't like the taste of. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong or is the device faulty?

Make sure that your batteries received a max charge, first, and give it another go.

If you're still having issues with the vapor production, you might need to change batteries and see if there's any change.

Hi again,

it not as much the vapor production as the "leaky" liquid that bothers me, it doesn't taste very good. Any advice regarding what I can do about this? Is it a fault or is this normal?

The flavour itself is alright, although quite different from a cigarette and will take a while getting used to. I guess I will have to go through trying different flavours before I find a taste that suits me.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but so far I'm not thrilled. Also, the extra battery that my pack came with isn't working. It gives the right signals when charging, but once I assemble it, nothing.

another thing to consider is a e cig is not an analog take slow messured draws also on a fresh cart before you connect the battery blow a few gentle breaths into the mouth piece to prime the device. also keep the mouth piece the highest piece use it and a 15 degree or more angle and you should be fine

I bought my first e cig over a year ago. I was not impressed and only played around with it. Then, I got interested in the concept again and started reading the forum every day. I decided to try vaping more often, and I soon discovered I really enjoyed it. For me, I believe that many people are not going to immediately love e smoking. I decided not to give up smoking real cigs but to use the e cig for all of those real ones I smoke purely out of habit rather than desire. This works for me, and I find myself liking the e cig more and more. That means that I only smoke 3-6 regular cigs a day now rather than a pack. I am thrilled with that. You might try easing into it rather than jumping in full speed. Play with it. Read the forums. Call the manufacturer for replacements if you need to. If you treat the e cig as an "instrument of pleasure" rather than a quit smoking device, you may find yourself gradually enjoying the shift from cigs to vaping. Not all of us fell immediately in love with e smoking.

Thanks for all the tips. Yes, I will keep at it and hopefully become more of a fan. I do try to take long slow drags and also the pre-puff technique I saw mentioned but so far I don't know, still find it a bit of a hassle. I just wanted to make sure this is normal and that there is nothing wrong with mine :) I expected to have to take "harder" drags, but to me it seems a tad too much, I literally have to suck until I'm almost out of air ;)
