Hi Everyone :)

My husband and I are planning our first orders for PVs and e-liquid for Friday! We are so excited :)

I am 34 and I've been smoking steady for 17 years except once I stopped for a year when I was pregnant with my first kid. I actually smoked through the second pregnancy :( Only 4 cigs a day but I smoked.

Hubby is 31 and has been smoking since he was a teen also. We both smoke about a pack a day... he smokes menthol full, I smoke regular light.

So our goal is simply to not SMOKE. We don't have any problem with nicotine at all :) In fact after reading studies about how smokers have a lesser chance to get Alzheimers... well, hubby has a horrid family history of that disease so I don't think he'll ever aim to quit nicotine.

So for our first order we are planning to get two screwdrivers from TW. We did a lot of looking around before we decided. Of the battery mod styles this one is the one we liked most that was in our afford ability bracket and it seemed the best for the ease of use for hubby at work. My only concern is the 901 atty size... but we can get the 510 adapter kit if we don't like the 901. Which honestly we'd probably eventually order that anyway to try it out.

Does that sound like a realistic plan? I know we can only get so much from reading so I wanted to see if any of you have any advice on that :)

For e-liquid we are going to order from tasty vapor... we have not yet decided on flavors but AFB will definitely be one :) I chose that vendor for the variation of flavor, available strengths, doublers (with two of us vaping the liquid its convenient to be able to mix up separate strengths!) and ease of using the website. The website is very easy to understand and shop on. Also, the wonderful reviews. :)

I believe I'll have no problem with the mixing... which may be a wrong assumption so again if this seems like an unrealistic plan please let me know!

I'm asking for advice because we really are very excited and we want this to work out :) I'm happy to listen and learn from experienced vapers!

Thanks for reading!

Welcome TnR (both of you)
The experienced members here will have to chime in on your choice of hardware. I went with the 510 so I'm not qualified to comment. The only screwdriver I've had in my mouth was the drink. :p
Just wanted to applaud and encourage your decision to do this. Today is one week for me and I am amazed at how much better this method of quitting is compared to all the others I tried (and failed with) over the years.
My wife worked for a while at a home for Alzheimers residents and I have never heard of smoking having any positive impact on contracting that dreaded disease. I'm going to do some looking into that.

Good luck and happy vaping!

Hi guys, welcome to a friendly place.

My advise is this: Remain flexible. I've ordered juice form four different vendors, looking to find what I like best. If one thing doesn't work out, chances are another will. I found my happiness in DIYFlavorshack. I use both a 510 and a Vapor King. I really like the disposable cartomizers of the VK, but it's also fun to tinker with the 510. Remain flexible, if you don't like the SD, try something else. There's so much to learn. Most important, don't be afraid to ask questions! There are many knowledgeable peeps here.

Best Wishes,
Geoff

Welcome aboard! Tasty Vapor has excellent juice, as does Ms. T's Bakery Essentials (I just got some of her Bananas Foster Coffee and can't put it down). I would recommend keeping a separate atty for the TV Atomic Fireball - it is excellent, but the flavor will hang around in the atty and everything else will taste like cinnamon. Best of luck!
