I'm back with another question.......lol Took on a big job this week so I could purchase my 2nd REO after just receiving my first one on Tuesday. This little mod is just amazing!!!

So, question is........Will the door from the REO Mini fit the REO LP Mini? From what I'm reading the regular mini would have a deeper well and that may be better for using my HH.357. I did use it on my LP and had no issues at all, but I did really have to pay attention so that the juice wouldn't go over the top. So, I guess that leads me to another question......Is there a reason I shouldn't get the get the regular REO Mini and just stick with the LP for my second?

Thanks again for the help!

I currently have an LP door on a non LP Mini and vice versa.. Why?... Why not, right?

So.. I think it should. Or maybe I'm just lucky?

The doors should be the same
The only difference should be the milled off catch cup
Get the regular REO mini, they are better for standard disposable atomizers like the HH357
You skwonk until you just barely see the tip of a droplet appear at the base vents of the atomizer
Then you'll have one of each
The LPs are for rebuildable atomizers that will not fit into the catch cup

Thanks, everyone. I can use a the RM2 on it though, right?

Honestly, the main reason I wanted the regular is because of the colors offered........lol I got the hammertone silver for the LP mini, and I like the purple, but that's only in the regular mini, so I thought I could swap the doors and have a bit of both......lol

I do like the RM2 and that's what I'm currently using, but on the fly, if I wanted to use my HH.357, I thought the regular was better.

Did you get a regular RM2 or LP version? The regular will work on both the LP only on the LP Reo.

the one on the right is the regular the others are LP RM2s

I got the LP version because I thought that it was the only one that would ONLY work with the LP. Should I get the regular RM2 this time........What's the difference, then?

BTW, I decided to stick with the LP for my 2nd in the silver vein and think the door switch will look pretty good.

See the bottom of the RM2 on the left, the brass, that is where the bottom of the RM2 has been shaved on a lathe to be skinnier and fit in a regular REO. I'd stick with an LP if you are getting an LP Reo.

Here are two LP Reos. The one of the left has the regular RM2 and on the right the LP RM2. The brass kind of jumps out on the left. It works fine it's only a cosmetic thing.

"Regular" vs "LP" (low profile)

The "regular" models have a deep well around the 510 connection. It's there so that if you over squonk, the juice stays there unstead of running down the side. That said, as noted, you should only squonk enough to wet the wick, although the "extra" will be drawn back up into the atty over time. You can "blind squonk" by drawing on the atty WITHOUT firing, until you *just* hear a slight gurgle OR feel a slight change in pressure. That's enough to wet the wick and you're good for several nice vapes.

The "LP" models have the drip well ground down even with the 510 connector. That's so you can use wider atomizers like the "LP" RM2. The "normal" RM2 has had it's base milled just enough that it will fit into the drip well of a regular REO, the LP RM2 (not milled) won't fit into the well.

If you're going to be using disposable atomizers/cartomizers, you definitely want the "regular" version (to avoid drips). Many of us have switched over to the RM2, and in it's "regular" (milled) version, fits just fine on the "regular" REOs.

Some folks like to use a variety of rebuildable atomizers, hence the need and demand for the milled down (LP) REOs. You can use the "regular" (milled) RM2 on the LP REOs, it just looks funny because you can see the brass where it was milled.

It's all up to you and how you think you'll be using them, but truthfully, a year from now you'll have lots more REOs, so just take a best guess for now and don't stress over it too much.

Also, you can PM Robert (redeyedancer on ECF) to see if he can hook you up with a particular color combination you want in whichever one you decide to get. He's a great guy to work with, and doesn't mind at all if you call him up and chat about it, he obviously has insights few others of us have.

So, to summarize, the LP REOs can use ANY atomizer (pretty much), the regular REOs can only use disposable attys and cartos, and rebuildable attys that are around 14mm wide at the base or less. In it's "native" form, the RM2 wouldn't fit a regular REO, so Robert mills them down to fit.

Probably more info than you wanted, but it's always good to give as much information as possible, since there will be people coming along behind you, that know far less about this stuff than you do :)

(and just a little p.s., due to my own preference. You can slip a bottle cap o-ring over the brass part of the "regular" (milled) RM2 so there's no brass at all showing when you attach it to the regular REOs. Just a "looks" thing :) )

ETA: what they said above, before I could post all this :)

The regular RM2 is for REOs with catch cups
If your getting another LP you don't need this one

BTW - You could buy one and send it to me

Thanks again! I could, but that would mean another big job and I'm tuckered out from this one.......lol Work to pay bills??? Nahhhhh, to get another REO! LOL

Thanks for that picture!!! That helped tremendously! I ended up getting another LP RM2........Gotta have them both goin'! ;-)

Thanks so much for taking the time to type all of that. It made a lot of sense and now I get it. :D
