Hello, I am Ms Fatty Cake. I run a weight loss blog. I'm also a smoker (a heavy duty American Spirit Yellow smoker, to be exact). I desperately want to quit, but I also do not want to gain weight. If I find an e-cig I like, I want to promote it on my site.

I am seriously looking at these 510 models as the more I read about them giving good throat hits, the more I believe that will help me more to stop.

I'd like to purchase from an e-cig company that has an affiliate program, if I like the product, so that I can join and place the banners on my site.

Thanks in advance for the n00b understanding. :p:)

Howdy msfatty;

I'd like to throw a suggestion your way. You're asking about affiliate programs from suppliers, which I personally have no idea who would offer these programs.

My suggestion is to continue your discussion about e-cigs here, and also post the affiliate questions in the suppliers forum. Any supplier with a program like that would be sure to answer. Then you'll get your information right from the horses mouth. Here's the link if you're interested.

Hi msfatty,

I am/was in the same boat, did not want to gain weight quitting b/c I have extra pounds the way it is.

Luckly, it has not been an issue for me. I've been smoke free for just over two weeks now and haven't gained any weight. If anything, the vaping tastes so good (never liked the taste of tobacco myself) that I find I'd rather vape than snack. Vaping on coffee, chocolate and butterscotch is just so yummy!

Good luck with your endeavors!

Hello Girlfriend. I smoked heavily for 46 years. I finally quit trying to quit because of weight gain. I had to use 36mg juice to quit. It was so easy. Now I am down to less than 24mg. Not all PV's are the same. Not all of them may work for you. The 510 is very good and so are the others. I have actually lost a little weight. I wish you great success just like I have had.

shiva, you wrote exactly another topic I was thinking about... for the non smoking dieters.. these flavored cartridges and juices WITHOUT the nicotine would be perfect! There are already mouth sprays with atomizers which have various flavors to quell cravings on the market.

One of the first things I thought about when I saw this product was, heck, why would anyone have to "inhale" it? why not just a mouth full of flavored vapor? :D:D:D I would think that the nicotine free ones would be a good tool (if the flavors are good!) for dieters that are non smokers, and even smokers who may want some flavor time to time without any nicotine.

I smoke almost 10 cigs a day, sometimes less, but never more than that.

What mg cartridge do you think would be best to start with?

I actually find I vape so much (now that I don't have to go outside) that I have to buy a bunch of 0 nic juice so I don't develop more of a nic habit than I already have.

I only smoked about 12-15 analogs a day and went straight to the low nic juice. Now I'm adding 0 nic. Hope to wean down to 0 nic over the next couple months. It's nice to get a chocolate taste w/out eating choc!

I can understand your weight concerns, but IMO I don't think it's wise at all to promote e-cigs to non-smokers as a form of weight loss or weight control.

Whether its 0 nic or not, whether it's just for flavor or not, the e-cig IS designed as a smoking alternative.

The FDA doesn't need any more fuel to the fire so to speak.

WOW! Fantastic! It would be awesome to be free of this nicotine addiction and just vape flavors all the time!

Good point. :thumb:

My brother has been wanting to take a hit just so he can experience what I'm talking about. I told him no way, he does not need a nic addiction! It just so addictive it's scary.

The FDA doesn't regulate supplements like drugs. (sorry i can't post links here yet, because i am new, go to google and type in "fda supplement regulation" the first page that google returns is the page from the fda.gov site. which says:)

Generally, manufacturers do not need to register their products with FDA nor get FDA approval before producing or selling dietary supplements.* Manufacturers must make sure that product label information is truthful and not misleading.

The other flavor atomizers on the market are not at all regulated by the FDA, nor have they had any issues with them. Without nicotine, then the vapor is simply what every other flavor atomizer tool for dieters is, a supplement or flavor product, not a "smoking device."

Even if the FDA can regulate the nicotine, but they can't regulate the devices or juices without nicotine.

They think they can...
I'm sure you will be reading more on these forums (one way to not miss too many posts, is clicking 'new posts' under quick links, top right in the bar, when you are at the index-page); you will come across quite a few posts that might point you a different way on this subject (not that we all agree with their stance, far from it... but they have the say, now more then ever, and we don't... we can only try to make them change their mind, but for now the FDA mind seems firmly set on targeting all of it: nic-liquid, no-nic liquid, and devices the like).

But apart from that... one of the things they use as a reason (or an excuse) to ban these is "these devices might pull in non-smokers". I hope you understand, that your very words are going right up their street, proving they are right; and smokers, who need this device a lot more then dieters allready having other alternatives, I think can't really be expected to be very happy with your words for this reason.
I hope you see where those smokers are coming from, when asking you to please first do some thorough reading and thinking before making any decisions on whether your plans for non-smokers should be followed through or not. Just maybe there could be a way to turn it into something good; but I don't think that would be easy, for now chances seem much bigger at least in my mind that it would add fuel and turn out for the worse. So please... just be careful and thoughtful about it; can't ask more of course.

But all that aside I certainly do wish you lots of success with getting your own analog-use behind you! :)
