another vv vs mech thread....

need help...i've been vaping for a while now using my ego's and they are really amazing...but lately ive been wanting to move my vaping experience further...so i was planning on buying a new mod...for now ive got my eyes on a sigelei zmax, but i also want a mechanical mod, coz ive been rebuilding my vivi tanks for awhile now and i want to try rebuilding genesis type attys so i just think that i need a mech mod so i can have a really low res coil setup...

any advise or recommendations would really help with my decision...cheers!

Get a multi-meter if you don't have one. Digital auto-range.
Make sure the mod is well vented...particularly the all-mech one. Even while using IMRs.
Get good IMR's...not cheap stuff. AW and Panasonics are often recommeneded.
Know ohms law. Know amp limits. Learn to use the meter for testing things like button resistance, mod resistance as well as coils.
Consider a fuse.

For non-mech stuff, check amp limits. zmax is not bad as I understand it.

Why even bother with SLR (Super/Sub Low Resistance)? You can't adjust em to allow for coil variance so why not just stay in normal range? Don't blow yourself up.

Welcome to the ECF. Mechanical mods are good solid choices, but your vape depends entirely on the coil. Get it a little to long and your vape will be cool, to short and it will get too hot. I also would recommend a VV device as a move up because you can try lots of different resistances. Personally, I prefer a little higher resistance at higher voltage to low resistance at fixed voltage.

thanks for all the input...im off to my local vape shop...im now leaning towards buying a vv mod...i dont wanna jump the gun by buying mech mods.i know im gonna have fun with them but i might screw up and make a little bomb since im still fairly new to rba's...so the safer choice are the vv's...cheers!

Me too! Just built my first genesis/mech setup! WoooHooooo!!! Sorry, nothing really to add to the discussion. Just a newb who's completely psyched!!! Do you guys remember ur first hit with an rba/mech? I imagine I'll remember this moment for years to come.

Got so exited I put it on YouTube. Come to think of it, it might add something to the discussion...if anyone wants to see how a K101 hits on an Aga T-2.
