Sorry but here's my situation. I really like the Joye 510 I have, other than the short battery life. I just sold an Ego because it didn't quite match the vapor production of my 510, for whatever reason, and I didn't like the tapered cone/mouthpiece style. I'm looking to buy something 510 compatible with longer battery life, great vapor production, and something just round(cylindrical), medium-sized, not tapered or huge. I'm keeping my eyes on the classifieds. Any suggestions on what might match my needs?

Did you check into the Mega 510s? They have double the battery life and are just a little longer than a 100 cigarette. That was my first upgrade from the regular 510 before I got the eGo. I think it has a 280mah battery. You could check out the kr808s, but then you can't use whatever 510 hardware you already have. They do have a decent battery life for their size.

Keeping in mind that I don't know much...

It would make it longer, but I've heard the KR808D-1 (aka Vapor4Life which has cool colors) batteries (the normal and xl) have good life. I think they are about the same diameter as 510 but longer. You can get an adapter to use 510 atty on them. There are also XL mega batteries for the 510 and those supposedly last twice as long as a normal 510 battery.

OK
The size of any ecig is essentially the size of the battery which equals the life of the battery. An ecig is just a battery with threads for an atomizer, basically. Therefore, unfortunately, if you want longer life than a 510 you have to get a bigger battery. That is the purpose of the eGO - it is a 510 but with a fatter battery.

With regards to less vapor than your 510 for the eGO, not possible. Same voltage battery and exact same atomizer. It could have been a bad atty or something, but no chance of a standard 510 providing more vapor than an eGO.

In theory, the 510 should provide the same vapor as an Ego. In practice, it is likely less as the 510 is not at full charge very long because the battery life is so short.

Would be nice to get 510 thin and long life, but it doesn't work that way. The reason that the Mega 510 batteries are smaller than eGO is they are 280 mah. Your standard 510 is 180 mah. Standard eGO is 650 mah.

For stronger vapor, you might consider to search for a bigger atty. 510 gives good vapor but it is still small. Joye ego is slightly bigger (The bridge inside is bigger than other models). They require greater attention though. Example, at the point when the cartridge is becoming dry, the vapor is quite unpleasant. When it is dried, its worse.

I second the Madvapes suggestion - they have a holiday kit with 2 mega batteries for $34...I'm also a newbie so I ordered that, a few extra flavors from MV and some cartomizers and a drip tip from Nhaler...spent about $50 total and have a great little experimenting kit...I like that the 510 is so flexible and you can get the parts anywhere. Good luck!
