Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of the Wismec Sinuous V80 mod. Please see bottom for disclaimers and links. Note: This is marked as a sample.
Introduction:
The Wismec Sinuous V80 is one of the latest mods (along with the V200 I reviewed Yesterday) from long time vape manufacturer Wismec. For anyone who isn’t aware, they are a sub brand of joyetech (along with eleaf as well) so have been around many years most famous for their jaybo RX line of products. I’ve reviewed a ton of their stuff over the past 2 years and sadly can’t really say much good about them these days as they have fallen way behind the curve compared to other companies and maybe like 1 out of every 10 mods is decent but haven’t really made anything work running out to get in a long time so we’ll see if the V80 can change that. The V80 is a single 18650 battery mod (which is pretty rare these days) rated at 80 watts. It’s available in 4 colors Black, Red, Green, and Yellow. It comes in a kit with the Armor NSE tank which i’ll go over in this review. Looking around online I see the mod for around 35 USD and the kit for around 40 USD. Elementvape has both in stock in the US at those prices

Initial Impressions and features
When I first got this mod I didn’t really know what to think. On one hand it was nice to see them go back to basics without having a bluetooth speaker or anything, but on the other hand I didn’t see any upgrades to the menu or screen which is pretty badly outdated these days plus the whole mod itself is plastic. A big saving part of it though, was it’s a single 18650 battery mod which has been pretty rare these days to see any good ones. Not including stick style ones, i had to go back over a year to fine any good ones, so i figured as long as it’s decent it may be worthwhile.
Watt Mode Performance (chart and spreadsheet in picture album)
Now let’s get into some data. I ran my normal testing. I used Sony VTC5A batteries for the testing. Testing resistances were done at .13, .15, .2, and .61 ohms. wattage points were max (80), 60, 40, and 20. At .13 ohms it maxed out at 67 watts and 23 amps. For the rest of the testing it struggled quite a bit which is actually uncommon for single battery mods. It was 3-11 watts low. At .15 it maxed out at 76 watts. The rest of the testing here was ok, running 1-6 watts low. For the .2 test it maxed out at 76 watts. For the rest of the tests though pretty solid 3 watts low at 60 but on point under that. For the .61 testing it maxed out at 81 watts and 7.048 volts. For the rest of the testing it was a little high 1-3 watts. The volts shows there is a boost circuit in this mod like all single battery mods should have
Overall I felt the performance of this mod was just ok. It struggled with builds at .2 ohms or less. But did good at the higher resistance test. It’s not as good as a pico or wall crawler or one of the stick mods i’d recommend, but it’s decent enough for the way it would get used for most. I was able to get 81 watts max, so it is rated well at 80 watts. The 7.048+ volt limit shows there is a boost circuit as there should be. Their manual list a voltage limit of 9V which is plausible since I was capped off by the watt limit in my testing, Volts shouldn’t be any issue for anyone here. They don’t list an amp limit and I wish they would list all 3 personally. On this mod and the most amps i got was 23 with a .13 ohm coil which is below average for a single 18650 mod (most are 25-30). So overall just ok performer and good enough ratings.
Simplified TLDR Power Performance summary
Mod performance is just ok overall. Good rated for watts (81), Yes boost circuit, low amp limit of 23. Hits a little weak and performance at .2 ohms or less is a struggle
Temperature Control Performance
Using SS316 wire and SS mode, i’ll keep this pretty short and sweet. The 1st build i tried was a simple round single coil build and it was wonky and inconsistent throughout the day, then it really started going crazy on me throwing up weird errors and glitching out (screenshot in the album). Wasn’t much of a reason to continue with testing it at all at that point. Typical wismec TC and 0 improvements on it over the past 3 years despite me dinging them in every review which is a little sad and a little frustrating. Not a mod i’d recommend for TC.
Other Usage Notes
The mod uses a standard 5 click to turn on and off. The menu system is pretty much the same as all their past mods really and needs a huge update. They did make 1 minor improvement though where 3 clicks does bring you to an actual menu to select your mode, which gives you Ni, Ti, SS, M1, M2, M3, Bypass, and VW. So your pretty basic modes on most mods. With the mod off, Holding fire and up takes you to another menu where you can set a preheat (power and duration), and program the TCR memory modes. They really need an overhaul of the menu. Holding down and up locks the adjustment buttons but you can still fire. With the mod off holding down and up flips the screen. With the Mod on, up and fire lets you turn logo on and off and down and fire lets you turn stealth mode on and off. It’s really odd how even their shortcuts and menus aren’t consistent at all from mod to mod, and kind of crazy you need to turn it off to program a preheat option. Come on wismec and fix your menu to make your mods more usable.
The Wismec Sinuous V80 adjusts by .1 watt increments under 20 watts and full watt increments 20 or more. Holding it makes it adjust very fast as well, so well done there. There is no round robin though. The mod itself is built solid with no rattle at all, but very lightweight due to being mostly plastic. The Battery door is a standard bottom latch style. It works really well and fits nice with no play. The paint on the mod is well not really paint per se. It’s all colored plastics and pretty plain. I got the red one which is actually pretty nice looking and translucent. It appears the body itself is a slightly red tinted color and under that is the red that sticks out, on the front it’s very easy to see through which i actually like personally.
The fire button is standard size simple rectangle button. It works well and It never gets stuck or anything though which is as it should be, no complaints there. The 510 pin is great and gave me no issues with any atomizer. The mod handles a 26mm atomizer flush and the 510 is centered so great job there, It’s only limited by the thickness of the mod. The screen is the old outdated “dna” style screens and the same one we’ve seen on all the past wismec mods, save for the tinker. It’s the same as the active, luxotic MF, etc. They really need to get nicer screens. I thought they were headed that way a year ago with the ravage 230 but they regressed, then with the tinker I thought they were headed that way again but now it’s just regressed back to the old school ones. It’s average brightness. Not very bright but not dim. Also for branding the mod itself there is wismec printed on one side and a small Sinuous V80 on the other. Nicely branded overall. They list a charging rate of 2A and i don’t recommend charging internally in your mods and will give them credit for saying as much on their site. Their official site reads “It’s better to take out the cells and charge them through and external charger” But since it is single cell for informational purposes only, I did check it and got a max 1.79 so it is accurately listed.
Armor NSE Tank Rundown
I figured i’d give this tank a try as it is usable for MTL vaping and there isn’t many good ones out there. Only the Tigon recently and prior to that you have to go back to late 2017 with the zenith so always good if i can find another good MTL tank. I will say these coils are cross compatible so i have used them before when i reviewed another wismec kit but can’t remember which one, but figured giving them another go would be a good idea because coil QC and all, plus the tank itself here is different
So let's go over the basics of the tank, it’s a 26mm diameter tank with a 3ml capacity and a slide back top fill and uses a standard 510 drip tip. It has airflow on one side only, and has options for MTL (2 small circles or 1 small circle) and DTL (1 wide oval). The tank has a matching tint color on the tank itself and the 510 drip tip. Now let's talk about some of the design choices I don’t like on this tank. 1st off the tank itself is plastic for some reason. It’s a pretty thick plastic mind you, but not sure why we still have plastic tanks when it’s known some juices could eat through them although we do have plastic pods and haven’t seen that issue but still. A tinted glass would have been better. The AFC while easy to adjust mostly, can’t be adjusted on mod. It goes to the bottom of the tank so when it’s secured on a mod, it’s “locked in place” against the top of the mod. They also do not include a spare plastic tank for some reason. One more complaint , in order to replace the tank or take it off for cleaning, you need to unscrew it via 2 phillips head screws on the inside. Just a lot of poor design choices on this tank that don’t make much sense
But how does it vape? Well I just wanted to give another go for the MTL coil. I’ve had quite a few wismec coils over the years and have to say they easily are some of the worst coils i’ve used in vaping for flavor and life. The coil is rated for 8-14 watts. I found it best 9-10 watts personally. The flavor on it is actually pretty good for a MTL premade coil, but the life not so much. It burned out on the 2nd tank so only lasted about 4-5ml. So overall this tank is a huge no-go for me and not impressed at all
Pros:
So with all that said, do I recommend this kit or not? I don’t like to do a hard yes or no and this i have to break in 2 parts. For the kit version and tank it’s a no. No reason to use that tank ever. For the mod it’s a little tougher. There aren’t a lot of good single 18650 mods coming out these days. It’s literally been 12+ months since i had one i would recommend, that isn’t a stick style, which means the competition is pretty low as is the bar. So because of that i’ll lean very slightly towards the yes. It’ll easily be the worst performer on my sheet overall and not as good as the picos or stick mods or wall crawler or battlestar mini but it is the newest and should be easy to find in case some of those start becoming unavailable and should work decently enough for how people would use it. You can see my spreadsheet of recs linked down below.
This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.

I found it best 9-10 watts personally. The flavor on it is actually pretty good for a MTL premade coil, but the life not so much. It burned out on the 2nd tank so only lasted about 4-5ml. So overall this tank is a huge no-go for me and not impressed at all
Pros:
- Power performance is decent enough for the way it would be used by most
- batteries are easy to get in and out without damaging wraps
- color options (4)
- good and centered 510 pin
- handles 26mm attys flush
- power adjustments are fast and easy
- accurate rating for watts
- Volt limit is more than good enough
- MTL coil on included tank has good flavor for a premade MTL coil
- TC performance is horrible
- small black and white screen
- menu system needs an overhaul for easier use
- struggles with lower resistances
- mod feels cheap overall
- Easy to use Menu
- included tank has no spare
- included tank coils have poor life
- included tank has a plastic tank instead of glass and other bad design choices
So with all that said, do I recommend this kit or not? I don’t like to do a hard yes or no and this i have to break in 2 parts. For the kit version and tank it’s a no.
