Just trying to get this 5 post ordeal out of the way. Did 4 years active and now currently on 4 more years IRR. Just started up vaping and this forum helped me out A LOT deciding on the kit I just bought. Stories of our glory days are always great. And if you're not a Marine or any other prior military still feel free to post. New to this so any tips would be greatly appreciated

Feel like I should ask a question, so..

What's your favorite site to purchase e-liquid?

hey there I am a fellow Marine... What was your MOS???? Also there are a lot of different vendors out there to choose from some that I have found really good is Dark City Vapors. they make an awesome banana pudding. Other than that it just depends on what kind of juice you like to vape. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. If I can't answer it I may be able to find someone who can for you. Other than that welcome to ECF and I hope you continue to find this site very helpful.

I'm not a marine, but I thought this may interest you.
A E-juice vendor named Ahlusion is a former marine and I believe gives military discounts.

About Ahlusion, LLC

He has one Tobacco e-juice named Devil Dog that he developed especially for his Marines.

Devil Dog! - Premium E-Liquid

They are currently closed due to moving into a new location, but he should be back open sometime this week.

Thanks for your service, and welcome to ECF.

not a problem, if you're a carto guy then ikenvape stocks the best cartos on the planet as well, they only sell three juices over there but the ones they do sell are amazing.

ecblends i throw out to everyone because well, quite frankly their juice is dirt cheap and offers the best bang for your buck.... of all of those, juicyvapor probably has the best flavor/selection ratio

Just checked out ikenvape's cartos and they do have a good selection. I currently have a noob V2 cig with their clearo version and I'm liking it. So I did some reading and decided on getting a KGO 1100mAh Clearomizer kit. Read a lot of good reviews on the KGO so I figured I'd give it a try. What are your thoughts on the KGO?

nothing wrong with a KGO, i own two myself, was my first medium sized battery kit, i got mine from hoosierecig.com....who is also stocking the newer KGO version2 now with a few added safety features....the only other options i'd throw out for a medium sized battery would be a fixed-voltage eGo passthrough or an eGo twist, but the KGO is a superior fixed voltage battery rated at 4.2 volts on a fresh charge vs the 3.5 volts a fixed voltage eGo produces, which basically means you get a better vape off the KGO....the twist being the exception, as it is variable voltage that you set to taste.

as far as clearos go, i'm not a clearo guy, i honestly feel the performance lacks compared to a cartomizer, the only clearo i can recommend is the mini vivi nova, as it's the only one that halfway performs how it's supposed to.....i generally recommend you try a little of everything and see what works for you though, try a clearo, try a carto, and try a drip atty as well.

hoosierecig.com is actually where I purchased it. I'll take your recommendations on trying a little of everything. It's been day 4 without a cig and I'm getting more interested in all this "e-cig knowledge". Your avatar photo of Mr. Miyagi definitely suites you lol.

thanks. mr. miyagi is my idol. lol...trying a bit of everything will give you perspective though and know what to expect from certain things, i've tried just about every style of juice delivery there is at this point...i could give you performance breakdowns and such but, its a whole other thread, and to be completely honest unless you have a ton of free time (and extra cash) to rebuild the high end attys then it's best to start off with those three...the high end stuff can cost upwards of 100 bucks and can take time to disassemble and rebuild, and stuff like the genesis style atomizers will leak if you turn them on their side....so its really not worth it to start at the top...

glad to see you're doing good with it though, you should be very pleased with the KGO...i still remember my first drag after vaping a mini, it was like going from driving a cobalt to a corvette.

"driving a cobalt to a corvette" lol. I'm pretty excited to try the KGO now. The high end stuff I'm not even thinking about at this point. It took me about a week to decide on the kgo for my upgrade, so I can't even fathom dealing with the high speed pv's out there. I'm still trying to find a satisfying liquid. Only one that I've really liked out of 7 ordered is " Bahama Mama" from ecblend. What pg vg percentage do you usually get?

i prefer 70/30 myself, but some juices i get (like bobas and gorillajuice) only come in 100% VG as they are classified organic...a lot of people are allergic to PG it seems, so the first couple of weeks are very trial and error when it comes to your preferred ratio....just note that anything with more than say 40% or so VG is really thick, and it might have wicking issues in clearomizers, and tends to gunk things up rather quickly, dropping the lifespan of whatever wick/coil/carto you're using drastically.

as far as finding the "right" juice, check out a few sample packs from places like halo or ttteliquids, they'll give you a good idea of what flavor profiles you like....and you can try other juices dependent on that...which is why i recommend grabbing the drip atty as one of the juice systems as well, because it's simply the best thing for trying new juices as you only get a few vapes before you top the atty off again...

also another option is to see if there are any local shops you can go to and see if they'll let you sample some flavors, a good place to check is right here:

I've actually been using 70/30 and I'm liking it. I always wondered what the drip attys were used for. Great info and advice just keeps coming. Thank you for your time elmattias. I really appreciate it.

its no problem, and the drip attys do have more than just flavor checking....many vapers prefer the flavor of dripping to other juice delivery systems, partly due to the lack of filler/wick materials in most drip attys....the only issue is having to drip juice all the time unless you get a bottom feeding mod to push juice up to the atty from underneath the threads.
