Well I'm about a week into this and I'm already tired of the 808's. Mostly having to charge batteries all the time. I've got 4 batts so I'm never without a charged one, I just don't like the hassle of swapping all the time. I've been checking out the bigger units and like the idea of replaceble batteries. I've already got a lot of good protected 18650 atts that I use for lights and thought I might use them. Any suggestions? I saw an e-power 2200 kit that uses them but I'm not sure what others are available. Are there any that have swappable battery holders if I want to go with a slimmer unit at times? Also how do manual units do while in a pocket? I worry about the button being engaged or damaged carrying it around.

BTW: The 808's won't go to waste, my wife is starting to dabble so they'll work for her for a while at least.

peace.

You have lots of options with those batteries. I have a couple of 18650 2900mAh that I use with my Indulgence and I can vape for a couple of days on one battery.
There's also the Precise 18650, the Reo Grand, the Provari...lots of choices, my friend!

The downside is that I don't think you can go to a slimmer battery with these types of mods. I don't know of any off hand that will allow you to go from an 18650 to something slimmer.

Some are very pocket friendly. I know the Provari has an option to lock the switch so it doesn't go off in your pocket.

I've got several 18650 mods. My favorite is the Silver Bullet from Altsmoke. It's very well built and won't fire in your pocket. Also from Altsmoke is the Omega which is an all mechanical mod with a spring loaded top section that you push down on to make make contact with the + battery terminal. It too is well built but I don't put it in a pocket because I'm concerned about accidental activation. If you're looking to get by cheaper look at the Maxi Roughstack from Madvapes which sells for around $50. It's not as nicely finished as the others but it works. There's also a couple of places selling boxmods that take 18650's. Try Kens Boxmods if that interests you. Of course you could just build one yourself with parts purchased from Madvapes if you want to.
