Any lingering side effects? [For people who have vaped at least one month]

How are you doing with any side effects after vaping for a month or more?

  • I never experienced any problems from vaping.

  • I had some MINOR side effects early on, but they went away on their own.

  • I had some MINOR side effects early on that I solved by switching strength, PG/VG, flavor, brand.

  • I had some MAJOR side effects early on, but they went away on their own.

  • I had some MAJOR side effects early on that I solved by switching strength, PG/VG, flavor, brand.

  • I continue to have some MINOR side effects.

  • I continue to have some MAJOR side effects.

Well, the usual problem, of course, for many: Is that because I started vaping, or because I stopped smoking? What you vape is a problem only for very few people.

Of course, some think it's this or that, order something else, and then the symptoms go away. Only they would have anyway …

This is truly the dilemma for me as well. What to attribute to vaping as opposed to getting rid of those analogs and their chemicals.
I'd say the dehydration and the "hunched over my laptop on ECF syndrome" sums it up.

Vape On!!!

After about a week of vaping I starting coughing when I was done. As I understand it, this was my body getting rid of some of the crud in my lungs from vaping. The coughing lasted about 3 weeks and then it went away, since that time I have had no other problems vaping except when I have done too high of a nic level and I have gotten heartburn and a headache.

The coughing is your body getting rid of the crud in your lungs from smoking. I know alot of smokers, when they quit, start coughing alot. So much that most just go back and have a cig again just to stop the coughing.

I knew it would stop because I asked on the forums, this is a great place for finding friendly advice and help.

Thanx for pointing this out, Alex. I hadn't seen this yet. I try to go to a different topic everyday. Been vaping only a week and a half and smoke-free only 5 days. Gotta get educated. Glad my Joye510 was a plug-and-play, b/c i'm not sure what i'm doing yet, but it sure is fun. I absolutely adore your avatar.

Skin peeling sounds indeed like a PG problem, do check out this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/62464-effects-vaping-skin.html

Thanx again, Alex. I read them all. Sure not looking forward to these visual signs of detoxing. Yep, the skin is the largest organ of the human body and the lungs and skin are linked to the same anatomical system, so it sure makes a lot of sense. I used to do dry skin brushing, but I've slacked up on it lately -- gotta start again -- this should help the skin eliminate toxins faster -- or at least that's what the health gurus say.

I selected "continue to have minor side effects." I do have a bit of dry mouth, and a very dry mouth in the mornings. This may be solveable by using less PG, but I'm willing to deal with it because if I use less PG I get no throat hit, and it's just not satisfying. More water!!

I was having some acne that was hangin' on until I began to wonder if it wasn't from quitting, but from vaping. But as soon as I stopped scrubbing the ever-loving crap out of my skin it went away. So, that was probably my own fault. My bad, heh.

I've been vaping 4 and a half months.

I had a little bit of a sore throat at first. I just drink a lot now (probably a good thing anyway) and I have not had this problem since the first 2 weeks I vaped. Other than that it has been smooth sailing! I now mix my own juice and use a 6V mod. I am very happy to be analog free for almost 1 year. Feb 1st is my vaping anniversary. Life is GOOD!

After 4 years of smoking and 2 months of quitting the symptoms I am noticing that came from smoking are the lungs still ache a little bit and I still have a little bit of a smokers cough but it has lessened a lot.

Symptoms I am having from vaping are dry mouth with 100% VG that's about it.

Now that's interesting, son et lumiere. I've seen posts that blame the PG on dry mouth, and here you say you have dry mouth with the 100% VG.

i'm on day 50. still have "minor" side effects like tooth pain (however, i believe a lot of it has to do with my getting past 40, and a family history of tooth problems). had about 3-4 days of sharp chest tightness on my right and left sides, but that went away. i occasionally get a bit of a dry cough. BUT, the upside is pretty dramatic, too. first, my VOICE is so much clearer, less gravely. i can even (sort of) sing again. my skin and even my hair look better. i don't know if i'm MORE hydrated now or what, but it's noticeable. i sleep through the night and haven't coughed myself awake in weeks. i'm much more alert and drag a LOT less during the day. i am starting to get my taste buds back, and i have even lost a little weight. so, all these "minor" effects...bring 'em on :)
