Any long term reviews of the carto tanks?

After having quite a few bad experiences with clearomizers I figured I would go to a cartomizer tank. Mind you they never ever leaked on me. I could store them however I wished and not a drop. I love them, but I draw too hard once in a while and I would just burn them out. I burned 3 out just this past weekend. They are great however for testing and trying new juices. Yes I boiled and cleaned them out with no luck. Though this lead me to sifting through the countless forums here on trying out cartomizers instead. After PMing a Tank guru here ( I think he's name is smoking gun?) He has a blog here also on countless reviews he suggested I go with the vapor4life 3.5ml tank with a single coil and 2.0ohm so I do not burn out my cigalike. I love the feel and weight of the 808. The batteries last me quite a long time. I do not vape all day or constantly. I vape for oh I would say 20 min in the morning a few times about 3 minutes during the day, and then a vape session of about 30-45 minutes at night. I do not hit it constantly. smooth long inhales here and there while I read. Please elaborate your experience with these tanks. Should I also buy a punch tool for thicker juices? Do they leak? how long would you say they last? I don't see myself traveling with one, but on occasion I may have to. How does it vape the juice compared to a regular carto or clearomizers? LR carto I enjoy and are nice. Though they heat quickly and caramelize the juice on me quick. I like standard cartos because they are not easy to draw from and that is good for me. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Satu (sir or Ms.?) there's a post buried here about tanks, but instead of giving you a link will give you the run down. :)

Should I also buy a punch tool for thicker juices?

No matter what juice I've used in the tank cartos V4L sells have never had to expand the holes to get them to work properly, this includes 100% vg juice.

    Do they leak?

Yes and no. At the end of a tank cartos (especially with dual coils) you'll run into leaking issues because the coils are so clogged they can no longer burn off juice. Any tank can leak if you take too hard a draw constantly, too many dry hits, or you over saturated the carto when filling.

how long would you say they last?

Depends on the juice and how you vape. If it's a high vg, menthol, cinnamon, mint, or coffee juice your carto won't last as long as if you're using a high pg, sweet, or fruity juice. Higher voltage/wattage will shorten the lifespan of the carto as well.

I don't see myself traveling with one, but on occasion I may have to.

Travel with mine all the time, it really isn't a big issue. On a flight though suggest not taking a filled tank with you, empty in checked luggage is fine.

How does it vape the juice compared to a regular carto or clearomizers?

Not a fan of clearos because of their inability to keep up with chain vaping. In all honesty the vape you get from a 2.0ohm or 3.0ohm single coil carto is very similar to that of the wow and cool carts.

    Hope this helps.

Welcome to V4L Satu!! I also had bad experiences with clearos and moved to tanks, back when they first came out here.

I can only give you my personal experience with them and that is very limited. I tend to stick with what I like and don't branch out much.
I used 2 daily juices. One clear, higher PG than VG, mint/menthol juice I could use in a tank for about 2 months. I cleaned it after a month and after the second month it wasn't worth cleaning again, I just tossed it. I go through roughly 1ml a day, so that's about 60ml through one carto. If I skipped the 1 month cleaning I could get about 45ml through it before it got clogged.
The other juice was a dark, sweet, higher VG than PG juice that killed regular 1ml cartos on the third fill. For this one (because of the known carto issues) I'd fill a 3.5ml tank halfway and then clean and reuse it. I'd get about 10ml through one of these cartos before they were just dead. Never tried not cleaning them, but from past experiences I'm guessing I'd probably only get 1 tank full before they gave out.

Even with the higher VG juice I never had a juice flow issue, although I subconsciously do dry hits all the time on everything I use because I'm afraid of premature burning. So that may have helped. Mind you, this is all best case scenario. I did other things that prematurely killed cartos, but I recommend giving the tanks a try. They are great imo!

I only had a leaking issue once in the year+ that I used these tanks. They can sometimes create a siphon (no idea how it happened) and juice just starts dumping. It's easy to fix though, I just turned it upside down to stop the juice flow, cleaned everything up and all was fine again. It is recommended that you do not leave a tank on your battery when not in use, just in case there is an issue. Especially if you use auto batts, but any stick batt can be killed with enough juice.

Let us know if you have any more questions :) Oh, and if you do decide to purchase make sure you get in on a good sale. The promos are usually posted here daily. The tanks come with the 1.5ohm dual coil cartos, so stock up on the 2ohm SC if that is what you're looking for.
