Ex-gear head here:) Got out of building cars, and into building computers...lmao.

previous rides:

67' Ford Mustang Coupe, restored top to bottom, kept the original straight six..was still a nice car though.

83' Ford Ranger (Dont ask..yes it was ugly), 302 SB 30 over, Torker II intake, Holley 750DP, Pete Jackson Gear Drive, ...... Super Competition Headers, C6 Tranny, Ford 9in. rear with 4.56 posi., Hoosier Quick Time drag DOT.

79' Camaro Z28, 350 SB, Holley 750 DP, 4-speed manual, 10-bolt with 4.11 posi.

cyberwolf, That is your opinion i suppose ;) . Most of the stuff done to my car is pretty much transferable to another car, except for exhaust and clutch of course. I mean its a fun car to drive and all... but for sale lol.

And WOW hawk you had quite the collection of cars. Very impressed with all your setups. Kudos to you!

EXACTLY what I did lol (without all the nice cars tho :(). Computers are just a much cheaper hobby. Currently have a '00 Civic Si that's waiting on me to get the tax return so I can put a new tranny in it.

'02 Corvette Z06 with a TON of road race mods. Made 425 hp at the wheels and I've turned a 2:31 at Sebring in traffic. :D

Started to become a gear head but turned back on that one when it was looking like it was costing too much. A few mods listed on my car domain page: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2862613

Creeping up onto 300hp with this puppy with the exhaust modifications I made. Goes 0 - 60 in about 4.6 seconds. Woot Woot. Love my MomO (yes, I named my car)

And what is the point in putting all the money in the eclipse? Just curious, always have thought it was senseless.

Actually the 89-98 eclipse/talon/laser GSX DSM turbo, made gobs of HP for fairly cheap. Plus they were AWD. They were super fun cars to drive. New ones, well not so much, no turbo, kind of heavy, nice cars none the less.
I used to drive an 88 Rx7 Turbo, hense the rotary avatar god I miss it, made about 350hp to the wheels. SO I'm a fellow gear head here.

'08 HHR SS with the GM turbo upgrade kit, 25mm rear sway bar and various black out cosmetic mods. At 28mpg and 290hp (advertised for kit), it sure makes driving to work less boring. I gave up wrenching when I lost lift privileges and sold my 66 & 67 Chevy II SS's, well that and getting married...........

7 components and 23 screws
Why build when you can smell the fresh packaging of a brand new shiny computer ready to go? Get back to the cars, they are very exciting with many mechanical parts!!

I prefer to build my computers than buy them. Its more fun, more customizable, cheaper, preforms better, and you get that new component smell in each package. I am a hotrod lover too but money has been too tight to build anything recently.

I had a 87 celica back in the day with ground effects, rims, low profile tires, new suspension, new brakes, cored out caty, performance exhaust, bored out cylinders with bigger pistons, increased compresion, stabalizers, nice paint job, new interior, 12 speaker sound system at 1500 watts (4 crossovers,2 equalizers, 2 amps, 2 subs, 4 woofers,4 mids, and 4 super tweeters), and a whole lot more.

Someone hit that car and never got the money back invested. Now I have my 02 yamaha vstar to keep me happy. It has custom signals, vance & hines exhaust, highway bars, jet kit, and a few small things. Modified the rear license plate to get rid of the reflectors and brackets so it is very clean.

I remember the days when I would always build my own computers. I've since grown out of that and let others build them for me. I've graduated into a voice network engineer and deal most with configurations now than with hardware! I don't miss it one bit....

However, I do miss fiddling with my ride :(

I was quite some time ago, but Unauthorized Speed Contest tickets and 2 97 in a 65 (in the same week) and a couple other tickets I don't feel the need to mention put a stop in all of that so I now just drive a car and don't do anything but maintain it, which now in my life is proving to be almost too expensive in itself... Maybe some day I can get into it again.
