I've tried a lot of vanilla and vanilla custard blends. Most either taste like chemicals or the flavor is just lacking. The two that I think are really good are Bryce's Vanilla Creme Custard and Nicoticket's Custards Last Stand. Bryce's has a more intense flavor with maybe the nutmeg more pronounced.

I tried Nicoticket's and it was way too intense for me so I won't even go near Bryce's lol.

Try Big Willie's--I've had both NT and his and BW is to me a less sweet, more rich and full flavor. Not intense but very well blended. You can get it from him directly on FB or you can get it through Giant Vapes.

edit: BW is going to be out of commish for a bit while he moves, but there's an order going into Giant Vapes that will be available soon.

Good deal, thanks for that info. Looking forward to trying it. I have some vanilla custard from TheVaporGirl on the way right now. Have you tried that one?

I haven't--BW was my first dip into the VC pool...I read a lot of reviews and comparisons between what was just a few months ago "the big three"--Grant's VC, CLS, and Big Willie's. I decided to go with BW first and got a 60mL bottle. I have a lot of juice so I still have about 15 mL left from when I bought it at the end of Oct. It's really good. I had a chance to try some CLS this month (someone here was kind enough to send me a 10mL from his stash) and it's good, just sweeter and a bit more "spicy"--there's a honey flavor in there that I'm not sure about. But I'll certainly vape it. :D

Don't get me wrong, NT has a huge following and won the 2013 ECF Juice Award--it's not a bad juice at all. I just prefer vanilla custard to be eggy and creamy, with just a bit of vanilla and nutmeg.

I've found myself in a similar boat with flavor sensitivity. I've got tons of juices but have only found 2 that I use all the time and a couple of others that work at some times. I find a lot of juices that smell pleasant, but end up tasting too strong or having an intolerable hint of chemical or perfumey taste that ruin things for me. Alpha Vape Miss White is my #1 go to as it is a very light flavor that isn't too citrusy or sweet, but suits my preference for a cool and slightly fruity flavor. MBV Twin Mint Gum is my other go-to and is a very pleasant mint flavor that isn't too sweet or menthol-like. The search continues, but if either of these go out of production I'll be greatly disappointed.

Thanks brianeharmonjr, sometimes I just get so frustrated. Usually after spending a bunch of money on unusable liquids lol or after watching juice reviews for a while and being really envious of the people who can pick up a bottle of liquid and just vape it. The search continues though! Thanks for the suggestions:)

Does anyone else get a soapy taste from VG? I find that the higher the VG content the soapier the taste for me, and these liquids are from quality vendors like Alien Visions.

That would make sense--VG is common in most moisturizers and soaps...not sure I have tasted it, although I don't really do high VG. I have though, and a few have had a slightly soapy fragrance, and maybe a bit at first but for me it doesn't linger.

Wow...was that really rambly or what? Jeez, let's try again.

I might have noticed a slight soapy smell/taste with some high VG juice I have tried. It never was overpowering for me, though. What you describe would make sense, since VG is used in a lot of moisturizers and soaps.

That's better.

Yeah, 50/50 is about as high as I can go without starting to taste the soap.

Hi BK_:)

Quite the opposite, I've never gotten a soapy taste from AVE (I have 6 different flavors and a couple differnt nic strengths), HHV (I have 13 from them), --
Both vendors e-liquids which do need a week to three weeks steeping time since I always buy 100% VG now.

Virgon Vapors have a strong chemical smell at first, but after about 2 months are good without perfume or chemical taste, but I've only tried about 24 flavors from them.

Velvet Cloud Vapors is another VG vendor with non chemically smell or tastes.

To me, some e-liqids with PG all smell perfumey or chemically. Also, some flavors, whether natural or synthetic, inherently can have a bizarre chemically smell, to me, and I immediately start sneezing, coughing, watery itching eyes!!!---but thank god not an extreme amount of them.

BTW, nice effort, to come up with a list and getting opinions from lots of great tasters:)

Hi searching4answers,

Thanks for the post and the kudo:) I'll probably give Alien Visions and Virgin Vapor both another try with your steeping recommendations. I tend to vape after about a week and then give away or sell if the juice is still off (just too impatient lol) and I'm now realizing due to a lot of good advice that some liquids take a lot longer to mature.

Just to add to that I'll mention that some of my VV's (especially chocolate ones) are best after I had let them set around up to 5 months lol. I've been DIY'ing in between ordering from vendors for the past year or two so have lots of liquids in various stages of steeping. I'm now vaping some that I made 8 or 9 months ago lol. That's not to say there are probably a lot of liquids that can be vaped right out of the mail for many people.

Please keep us posted on your opinion on those new vendors that you're going to try. Let us know your thoughts :)

Hi BK,

I have the EXACT problem like you. I guess I'm a super taster too? I absolutely hate the chemical/perfume aftertaste. I have been through 50 flavours myself and have found 1 particular flavour that is quite acceptable. I get it from canadaejuice.com and it is the Hawaiian Punch + 3 drips of their Double Menthol. I have been still trying other flavours but this is the only juice i come back for.
I don't know if it is my setup; I use a MVP2 with a Protank 1, 2 or 3. I am seriously considering going to a Provari + cartotank setup.

Please advise!

Just for the sake of being informative- "supertasters" aren't necessarily people who love tasting different flavors; they are people with more taste buds than average, and the flavors end up getting magnified to a point that they taste different to a supertaster than a normal taster.

Supertasters usually hate vegetables because they can taste the minerals in them, and are often forced to eat very bland, very monodimensional foods because everything tastes too intense.

You can test yourself to see if you are a supertaster--it's really easy. More info:

Hi makasu,

Good idea moving up to cartotanks and a Provari. I've been using both of those for a few years now. Make sure you get good tanks and cartomizers. I recommend IBtanked or Phiniac for your tanks and Vaperevolution or Ikenvape for your cartomizers. I have another thread here that might help with some liquid suggestions:

Yea Ive never got the soapy taste

and I do vape a bit of Boba bounty and HHV tobacco's

I will say however with HHV I find at first they can have a similer strange taste with all there tobaccos
but with proper steeping it disappears and they are great

I do capp off overnight when I first get them
and capp off for an hour a week or 2 later

some I like after 3 weeks some longer

but def good stuff
