I read some posts about how cartos lower than 2.0 ohms could be bad for a battery. I didn't think there could be an issue since the assumption I made were that these cartos were for ego megas. Am I wrong about that? Should I use the larger battery with these (1000 vs. 650 mahs)?
You might want to link those posts, as a lot of people are probably saying "Huh?".

Since I believe the Mega is 3.2 or 3.7, at 2ohm you're putting out 5.1 to 6.8 watts.. Not terribly stressful, and a reasonable discharge rate to do it.. Unlike the 6v on 1.5 triple coils I tried yesterday.. I can do that math and understand why I was going through batteries as fast as I could charge them, and why it might actually be a bad idea.

But I'm not an EE, so if you links suggesting why your configuration would be bad, I'd be interested to read them.

I'd be happy to except that with all the activity on this forum, it'll be a long shot if I can find them again. Anyway, I will take your post to mean I shouldn't worry about it then. Thanks!

I wouldn't exactly take it that way..

The equipment I use has a bottom vent.. if something goes wrong, it vents down, and out, not into my hand.. That gives me some comfort should I be stressing things. You don't have that. The possible critical failure is in your hand.

Mathematically I don't see why there would be a problem, but that's not an endorsment that it will..

The eGo is 3.2-3.4V. Using 1.5ohm cartos isnt as much of a problem for the battery than it is for the mosfet. So using a 1000mah battery wont make a difference. The higher mah just means it will last longer before it needs a recharge. Using a 1.5ohm can go above what the eGo mosfet was made to handle, and thats when it stresses it. It might handle the stress fine for awhile but if it goes to far it could fry it. The 2.0ohm cartos are less likely and thats why Id use them. Many people use below 2.0ohm cartos and havent had a problem, but theres also a lot of people that have fried one, so just be careful if you do and know that there is a chance you could fry it sooner or later. You might never have a problem, but many people dont use below 2.0ohm just to be safe
