Want to get a quanitity of PG but my regular supplier is out of 700ml bottles so i've been looking for a source i can feel comfortable with. Anyway, didn't want to get anything from a feedstore as some do and checked walgreens, cvs and walmart paharmacies and none carry it. After some net searching i found this place with reasonable prices and sizes under 55gal drums ;) Note: searched here on ECF but most are talking about feed store stuff or too small of quantities.

This seems to be good but wanted opinions before i potentially waste money. The price seems decent (64oz for 26.99) and has free shipping. Anyone see anything wrong with this?

You might want to email them to verify the USP grade. It has a PDF link that implies it's USP but the main page for the category you'll find that particular item on says otherwise.

99.9% Propylene Glycol may be used in many areas of personal use and commercial and industrial applications. This grade of Glycol is food grade quality glycol that has been repackaged in multiple container sizes for ease of use. 99.9% Propylene Glycol meets Technical Grade Propylene Glycol requirements.

Another grade of Glycol, Propylene Glycol USP, is packaged in containers that meet direct food and medical use requirements. If your Glycol is not being used as a direct food additive or in a direct medical use application, 99.9% Propylene Glycol is excellent for your glycol application.

Propylene Glycol

USP comes in one gallon and is here:

After reading that site, Neo, I wondered if the glycerin often recommended here is actually the best to vape. http://www.essentialwholesale.com/s.nl/it.A/id.39148/.f?sc=9&category=152273 I just ordered from Essential and now I'm concerned at 99% it's not food grade.

I can't get that link to work. But they only seem to have one grade of PG that I can find and it clearly states it's USP. The other place had several grades. I think maybe you misunderstood what I posted? The link the OP had given didn't appear to be USP...or at least I didn't think it was clear. It wasn't listed on their main page under USP PG. Instead, it was here:

Edit: Maybe you're questioning the 99% vs. 99.9%? IDK. From what I understand, the USP designation is all that is important. Maybe you're allowed to leave off decimals. To further confuse, it seems like if you take USP and rebottle it in a non-USP environment, then you can no longer call it USP. I'm assuming that is due to the possibility of contaminants. I sort of figure though that as soon as I've opened the bottle in my house, I've exposed it.

Neo, good catch, thanks so much! You just saved me from wasting $44 +shipping on a gallon of the wrong glycol and the time it would take to get in another shipment. It's gonna take me a week or two to get all this stuff delivered but i owe you a bottle of home brew juice or some glycol or pg. If you want some juice don't worry, i'll be using gloves and a mask in its preperation and am getting a buttload of flavourart. Name your poison.

SEE, that's why i asked here. Even though it appeared to be the right stuff leave it to the ECF members to catch a problem that otherwise would've been overlooked. This place is such a great resource.

I think GoodDog is referring to vg on this page http://www.essentialwholesale.com/s.nl/it.A/id.39148/.f?sc=9&category=152273 and although his link didn't work for some reason if you just copy and paste it to your browser then it does. Anyway, it says USP so it should be fine even though it's says only 99% but if i'm not mistaken doesnt that just mean it has 1% water rather than .01% to achieve 99.9.

I'm going to order 2 gals of USP PG and 1 gal of USP vg from essential wholesale since the prices are way better. Heh, that'll give me 3 gals of 70/30 (66.6/33.3) mix to do a lot of experimenting with to nail down some good flavor combos :) Later if i go commercial i'll order the other stuff from qualichem just to get the .9 purer with the kosher cert. Kosher certification may not be well regulated but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. ;)

GoodDog, NGP5 code gives 5% off at essential wholesale.

Edit: Yes, if you rebottle you must conform to the sterile conditions and other requirements to be able to call the finished product USP. That's why many suppliers say "ingredients in our products are USP" and not "our product is USP".

You've got enough to last you through this life time and the next it sounds like. You'll run out of flavors before you run out of PG and VG!

I just ordered $350 worth of test tubes, beakers, jars, pipette pumps etc along with 2 gals of PG, 1 gal of VG and about 20 FA flavors and will be ordering the 100mg nic juice tonight or tomorrow. Soon i'll be playing mad scientist mwaaahaahaahaa. Neo, wanna be a taste test guinea pig... errr i mean participant?

Lol, yes but i want to experiment with all the flavors from the various popular suppliers but with small sizes first so i dont have a ton of flavorings i hate laying around. Hmmm, maybe i can find some people with different flavorings wanting to trade off now and then. Think i'll start keeping an eye on the pay it forward thread too.
