OK. Point received, but that was written 2 years ago and the industry has changed. If DOW OPTIUM is the only possible source to vape then why doesn't every vendor carry it?

Yes I know the age of the post, but the key words are "It is possible", does not mean it is, or is not, it is just something to think about is all I was pointing out. I wish there was something besides just USP for a grade. I looked at a gallon jug at Tractor Supply, Listed "Propylene Glycol, U.S.P.", but also said "Not for human use". So I wonder if that is safe to vape? Makes you think.

'Was just rereading this thread, and realized it's possible that we2 came across as insinuating that Hoosier's response somehow needed a confirmation...and NOTHING could be further from the truth!

We were not insinuating that his response required a confirmation - we were just thinking that when any individual response conflicts with an officical "Sticky", that those with questions would appreciate knowing that there were several people that agree.

I'm not worried about it we2. I've been doing this long enough and have done my own research and have a closed mind about a number of subjects like USP and steeping. Folks can believe what they wish. Doesn't make it true, but it pleases their biased notions. Which is fine by me too.

Marketing and labeling requirements for standards and insurance are confusing to folks who haven't worked with product development that involve standard agencies that are codified by government regulation and the logically disconnected requirements that insurance companies often require.

I've done product development for quite a while to make a living and I've dealt with these things everyday and I honestly wouldn't expect someone in the general public to ever believe that it works the way it works, because it's pretty stupid and purposely confusing. (I think it is made confusing to keep non-insiders to understand what is going on and to insure the agencies maintain influence. But those notions are beyond the scope of this thread and forum.)

Plus a number of things I know I am legally bound to never reveal under threat of penalties I cannot ever afford. That's the nature of what I do though...
