I've never been able to get into it, but I have a ton of respect for psychobilly musicians. Specifically the bassists. I've been playing bass since I was twelve and I remember looking into psychobilly and being amazed at the talent. People don't realize how strong your fingers have to be to play an upright like that. The strings take MUCH more effort to use than a bass guitar. The lead in that video has insane stamina.

Good show last night.

The Mutilators. They were awesome. They even did a psycho "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" where the dude ran around in a banana suit:

And the Nekromantix:

I am so jealous :) Looks like good times. I love psychobilly. It seems like since I moved away from portland and back to reno there are very few people who share this love. I wouldn't even have anyone to go to a show with if I had the chance. :(

I know how you feel. Seems like my husband & I are the only people around here that like it, too.

You would think that there are a lot more that are into it, especially around Vegas. Don't they have an annual thing, like a Rockabilly Revival or something to that effect?

Love the Reverend. I hope I get to see him one day.

Here's the new Nekromantix drummer that we saw. She is awesome. She's like one of the best female drummers out there. Here's her drumming to her other band. Double bass in high heels FTW!:

I really love psychobilly my fave is Mad Sin. Nekromantix was playing a few hours from me not too long ago but I couldn't make it (and my BF is complete opposite of me so no one to enjoy it with anyways!).

Aw that sucks! At least there are a few people who like psycho. I am really just a fan of straight up rock 'n roll, ya know, but with psycho it's like amped up and couldn't be better!

Im a big Psychobilly fan. Anything from Rezurex, The Meteors, Nekromantix, the rev, Zombie Ghost Train, Horrorpops, Creepshow, etc etc.

Ive noticed a huge divide in the scene though (Like in Hardcore and Punk where I came from) about "Real Psychobilly" and posers. Well, they can shove it. Its fun and its a musical form based on not taking ones self or anything else really seriously anyways. The band I posted below I think has the right idea, the lyrics, video, and the fun are all embodied in it.

I also dig alot of horror rock though, comes from my obsession of all things horror related and I find both genera to be alot of fun.

And this...is just one of the most wonderful voices to ever grace Psychobilly/Rockabilly.

Those are some good music shadow!

Yeah when I was really "into" the "scene" I was like most, I was crass/anarcho punk turn punk/psychobilly~ or w.e, when I was younger that stuff mattered, but as you get older, it didn't matter anymore, you just like the music and don't care which "side" you're on. I was from the Bay Area, so the Berkeley "scene". I just love rock n roll, but I also love ska, rock steady, good country, metal, 80s music and should I say it even some "riotgrrrl" bands. I'll listen to stuff from Dusty Springfield to Demented Are Go, as long as it sounds good to me!

Now I live in the midwest, there's just not much here, so, eventhough I was out of it a bit, you still miss having the option of shows, and people you can relate to :/.

Yeah, the whole poser thing, whatever. Heard of people that think Tiger Army are posers. I think maybe they're more rockabilly than psycho. Here's a song that The Mutilators did that's funny, even though I think Nick 13 is hawt:

I love horror rock/punk also. Love Calabrese, Blitzkid, Misfits. Love the singers of Calabrese:

Can't leave out rockabilly. One of the classics, Brian Setzer rocks:
