Is this an ego style battery? If so, pull it back up and put an adapter on it. Permanently. So you don't have to keep pulling the pin up.
Yes, it's a eGo.
If you are talking about a eGo thread cover, actually, I have tried that before but I think it's too late. I think the rubber "collar" that hold the center post in place has lost its stiffness now after repeated pulling on the post. So the small movement of unscrewing the tank/cart is enough to disturb the post and causes it to "sink" back down. So, although having the cover there will prevent the tank/carto from going in too deep, it doesn't work in this situation. Any other thought?

No, not a thread cover or cone.

A thread adapter. I'd suggest a 510 to ego adapter, so you'd keep both thread options available.

Something like this: 510 Battery to eGo Atomizer Adapter

Lots of places carry them, Mad is just what came up on top of google.

Got it. Don't have that on hand. Will get one on my next purchase (I wish we have B&M stores in my city!). And thank for the reminder of turning off the battery and to use non-conductive tool.

But I think I will try the o-ring first b/c the adapter trick will add a length to the battery. Any trick on pulling the old o-ring out? It seems quite difficult only b/c there is so little space to work with. Do I even need to take the old one out? Can I just add the new one on top?

While I've read of the #60 O ring for the Vamo, I hadn't heard about it regarding ego styles.

In any case, make sure you do the 5 click off before doing the O-ring trick, or make sure you use a non-conductive prying tool.

Mostly, make sure you don't hit the Button while repairing. Absolutely turn it off before starting any repairs.

One odf my batteries has the center post pushed down a few times and now every time I switch tank/carto or screw in the USB charger, I have to pull it up. That is every time! It is becoming very annoying. Is there a way to fix it permanently?

I'd just buy another Battery.

What does an eGo Battery Cost? 9 Bucks?

It is a Twist. The cheapest I've seen is $23 + shipping.

Hey, take a look at post #13 in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ego-type-models/132193-ego-battery-failure-how-fix-2.html. What Saerjin says there is similar to what I see in my battery. So, I pull up the pin slightly and carefully push down on the o ring and tucked it back under the pin. It's been working so far. I'll still get a new o ring later though just in case this fix doesn't last.

Yeah... For $23 + Shipping its worth trying to fix.

But still, Buy another and use it. Fix your Old One and keep it as a Back-Up.
I have a couple. This is just 1 of them.

FYI, the trick I posted in #17 here, works for a few times but it doesn't last. So, a trip to the hardware store tomorrow for the o ring.

Anyway, there has to be a reason why they don't make the center pin spring-loaded. But what is the reason? I can't see why not. A spring-loaded center pin will solve this common problem. Anyone one know why?

Probably the cost. I've noticed that some of the V4 clearomizers are coming with spring loaded pins. Maybe that's the direction the industry is headed instead.
