any way to clear that burnt taste?

So I just got a new aspire nautilus mini and loaded it up with juice. I do a few pulls without firing to help soak the filler in the coil and then fire it up.

stupid me my mvp was still set to 5v and the wick must have been a bit dry so I cooked the coil a bit on the fist firing.

I waited a bit and let things soak more and then tried again at a lower voltage but no matter what I fire at now that same burnt taste is still there.

I'd hate to toss a brand new coil, anyone have any advise on how to get rid of the burnt taste without replacing it?

Put in a new coil and rinse out the old one really well then let it dry thoroughly, at least overnight I usually just wrap it in a piece of paper towel and leave it until I need to switch out the other one. Then fill up and let it soak for 5-10 mins before firing.
Works 8 out of 10 times, stock coils are silica wick so they usually do with this since it wont char like cotton.
