Anybody else at work on Christmas Eve???

I'm at work on Christmas Eve and I have to work tomorrow too...anybody else? I'd like to give a big shout out to all of those people dedicated to helping others who have to work on the holiday - police, firefighters, doctors, nurses, etc. (and my own little self at AAA - saving all the folks who's cars break down)...HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Not lately, not in my current occupation. In my first career, I was as likely to work as on any other day of the year.

It can be a drag.

The rest of us should be appreciative for those who keep the essential business of our society running during the holidays.

Well, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas. I worked as a CNA for 10 years, so I know what it is like to work holidays. Now I print books and took this whole week off to help my daughter with her new baby boy.

yup! worked all day! im a guitar tech so everybody wants their guitar that their giving their kid/husband for X-mas set-up and they all wait til the last minute!!! not as important as all the occupations you listed tho! their all far more important lil ole' me, but I feel for all who get stuck workin holidays!

I had to work today, and I start doing my regular 3 night shifts tomorrow.

as long as the world needs oil, i'll be doing my 6 on, 6 off

Yep...work the entire holiday. Today was the start of my 3 day stretch of 12 hour shifts in the ICU. Love being an RN.....tough on me personally to work holidays though. But the families of my patients are very grateful.

I just got home from work, had a 10hr shift today, will be back in for another 9hr shift tomorrow on Xmas. I work at my local airport as a line service tech. Airport has to stay open, especially on the holidays. Lots of people coming and going to see their families. My days off are Thurs/Fri so if a holiday falls on any other day, I'll be working them

Ditto RIMP. I have no kiddos so I don't mind working for those that do. But my mama gets a little upset cause she cant see me. Even at 35 I am still her little kid!

I have the highest respect for nurses, and nursing home workers. It takes a special kind of person to do that hard work. They're people of caring and kindness and patience, and I'm so greatful that there's people like that out there, because I know I could never do that kind of work. I see it as a calling, administering to the sick and the elderly... especially without the high pay like the doctors get. I'll be working Christmas day to deliver pharmacy and labs for those wonderful nurses.

I'm a computer tech I do consumer remote helpdesk Christmas eve and christmas falls on my regular schedule days same goes for New years but I'll just take floating holidays sometime next month, its not so bad because I work from home and they're slow nights

Worked many a X-mas and New Years for the greediest US corporation in the world to meet the end of year 4th qtr profit so that the CEO and his cronies get their million dollar bonuses and to make Wall Street happy. Not anymore, retired!

On a 4 day stretch of 12 hour shifts in the ER. Exhausted, but vaping Geoff's blend on my maxi roughstack at 7.4V with 2.5 ohm carto. Makes the night pleasant.

No but I have worked my share of holidays when I was a hospital switchboard operator, that was many moons ago!

I worked 10hrs Christmas eve. Now i admit my job is not so important as some of yours, but i am a baker and this time of year is uber busy for me. Thankfully i am off today and get to spend the day with my family.
