Another tinnitus sufferer here. Lack of hearing protection often while working around US Navy equipment. Ever hear a CIWS mount pac fire from the weather decks without hearing protection? I have. Not to mention I ride a motorcycle. I wear hearing protection when ever I ride now over 30 minutes. I still work with the Navy and carry earplugs on my backpack and wear them all the time... Trying to save what I got. My new bike has a full fairing, so it is better on the ears. It is increased with nicotine and or coffee... no question. It makes it difficult to understand people, especially female voices... and the spoken test with the audiologist proved it. So now I have a valid reason not to hear my wife

I actually collect a little disability from the VA for it... but it's just 10% of my retirement tax free, so not really worth while until I need hearing aids. Hopefully by that time, science has something to help.
