I used to feel a little uncomfortable when I started about a year ago, but back then I was the only person I knew that had one. I hadn't even seen one other than online yet. They are much more common now. I feel totally comfortable most places. I'm quite proud to say that because of using it in public, I've gotten 4 friends and 2 people I never met before we played against them at bowling league to completely quit smoking. I can't count the number of people I've referred to this forum for information. Knowing I've helped those people get the information to change their lives makes me look forward to the next person who asks me about it.

I wouldn't say I feel like a nerd for using my e-cig so much. I mean, I feel like a nerd anyway because I AM a nerd. I'm big into videogames, anime, and computer stuff.

With an homage to Chrono Trigger as your name and avatar? Really? I never would have guessed.

But that's my answer too though I've always had far more positive response than most of you guys.

hmmm...let's see...i'm a 30 year old white guy with a shaved head who drives a 95 Taurus. the top half of my car has been spray-bombed flat black, it has really loud exhaust, and with good tires'll turn a high 13 in the 1/4 mile. might i also add i've been known to cruise around with old early 90's gangster rap pounding through thecompetition level sound system. nerdy? you betcha! but i'll be nice and warm vaping inside this winter while they're out shivering their collective asses off tryin to catch a few puffs before their snot freezes.

You didn't mention whether or not your body panels and license plate rattle amusingly! LOL.

I can out nerdy you, I think. 56 year old hippie driving a smart fortwo cabrio, JBL 660 GTi competition speakers blasting an eclectic mix of classic pop, rock, motown and country, top down, ball cap to keep long hair out of eyes in the wind. But, I do turn it down when the volume might bother people, how old school of me.

Hey, it's nice outside ... think I'll go for a drive right now. :) Put the top back Fred, and let's boogie!

Trick-or-Treating with the kids downtown today. I just stood aside as is acceptable for a smoker and puffed away. I brought my eGo and my xhale because it looks like a cigarette. I forgot to charge the battery on the xhale and had to use the eGo. (The stainless steel eGo, that is.) People didn't seem to mind. Had a few curious looks. I think it's akin to cell phones or blu-tooths. When people first started using them in public they got a lot of curious looks, then they just became a part of society. Hopefully more people will see it, then acceptance should follow.

Put some masking tape on your glasses, grab a pocket protector, and call it your costume!

I'm a nerd- married to a geek, and it doesn't really bother me one bit what people think of me, at least when it comes to vaping.

Nope, James Dean wouldn't have looked nearly as cool with an e-cig. Good- that will keep the kids away from them.

went to the party, it actually worked out. my friend asked me how it was working out and everybody else seemed to know what e-cigs were. one guy said he got screwed by the company he ordered from so i gave him a litecigusa business card that i carry in my wallet.

That is great! I happy it worked out and that you possibly helped someone else out in the process. Hope you have many more great social outings with your vaper....take care!

Great to hear your outing worked well for you! To answer your question though, yes, I do feel like a nerd while vaping, but seeing how I am a nerd, that is part of the appeal for me. I work with a lot of tough guys. War vets, truckers, general low income laborers with more muscle in their fingers than I have in my arm. I was talking to a professional bodybuilder the other day and even he was interested in the thing. I've converted maybe 8 people over to these things in my short time vaping. One of my favorite activities at work is going out to vape and explaining to the current analog users how the thing works and all the pros involved with it. When I first started out, I was the only one vaping in the smoking area. Now there's about four of us on any given night. Yeah I still get the occasional tough guy 30 year chain smoker who refers to my e cig in words I can't repeat here for fear of violating the TOS, but for the most part people are cool. Remember that at one point cigarettes were considered strange and ridiculous. All it takes is time and confidence.
