Greetings,
I'm looking for a wiring schematic for Ego Twist. It has three PCBs. The white switch PCB, the potentiometer PCB, and a green disk PCB that I don't know what it does. Initially, I wrote the connections down, but between procrastination and ADHD, the piece of paper is gone. :D

I just want to take the salvaged parts and put them in a box mod.

On a side note, can you put 7 volts into this chip? (x2 18650s)

Many thanks! :p

7 volts NO I wouldn't try it but u can run the two batteries in parallel it will still be 3.7v but the mah and amp load will be doubled (not positive about amp part tho)
So it will last forever lol.
As for wiring I have one in a box taken apart give me a few minutes and I'll have a look and get you going.
PS: the round pcb is what controls the voltage output and makes it a variable voltage penmod

Wow, I would appreciate that very much! There are a few contact points that aren't really labelled that is confusing. Like the outside contact on the green round PCB.

When I get the wiring, I'll hook it up in parallel out of the box, and let you know what kind of amp reading I get.

Ok found mine I only have 2 boards in it it is a ego-c-twist 1300mah

Anyways sorry my phones so crappy and I don't have a pc to poodle on but hope this helps

If u need help decifering lol let me know

Side note the amp load would be relevant to the batteries you use. Also even if the batteries can handle 10amps I probably wouldn't push more than 3amps through the ego board

I have the regular, plain ole', Ego Twist 1000 mah guts. The switch PCB is labelled "ego-CB vol 1" lol.

See what you can make of this?

Note the + pin connection on the switch board isn't present. Meaning, it feel off. There are two open connections, besides the + pin and the obvious + battery wire on the round PCB.

1. The + wire coming of the switch.
2. The outside connection on the green and round PCB. I'm fairly sure it was connected to the old battery. I just don't know if it's neg. or pos.

Nice job
As for the heat in not sure I've only fired mine out of the tube to test. Nothing to produce significant heat.

What ohm you firing at? Anything below 1.6 is probably to low for an ego.
Or maybe there is a wire crossed somewhere.

Like 2.7 ohm. Nothin' fancy.

You can notice the difference in parts of the switch PCB in the two pics we posted. The heat on mine comes from one of those black blocks, maybe a capacitor. Probably just less quality/efficient parts. Yours is like the sleek iphone, where mine is the 90's tracfone :p

I'm movin onto the box. I think the overall size will be:

Width - 2 1/4"
Height - 1 1/4"
Length - 3 13/16"

I got some stained wood slabs, pressed, glued, and dryin together. Tryin' to do that mix and match stain look.

I'm planing on doing one with dual 18650s once I got a nice enclosure....
Then hopefully in a few months I'll make a dual 22650 with a dna 20/30 chip that would be epic

How to fail completely at making a box from a block of wood:
0523142054a.jpg
1. Don't soak the wood in the stain too long, or else it may absorb it and actually look good.
2. Who needs straight cuts?
3. Bandsaws work great cutting big blocks of woods. The saw band won't move and won't follow any lines! YEY!
4. If everything has failed and you go the jigsaw route, make sure you don't check anything. That way the jigsaw blade won't reach the other end of the block and you're screwed.
5. Use the largest drill bit you got so when it punches through, it also takes a big chunk of wood on the otherside with it.

What a disappointment! lol It turns out you actually need some craftsmanship skills.

Ended up going with pieces, to make a wooden box. :)

Almost there, just got to sort out the ego electronics and contacts for the batts.

0524142046a.jpg

Being the ego button just would be a pain, I would have had to make some sort of button mechanism to push it. I found that if you remove the buttons innards on the ego, it leaves you with 3 tiny contacts. So I just soldered some sturdy wire onto those two contacts and it works lol. I'm gonna run those wires to the red switch. Really surprised that worked XD

Nice I need to find a enclosure to re do mine with two 18650s
Then also one for my egoCtwist with one for 18650 and a usb passthrogh/power bank

Gasp ... finally .... I got this up and running. 2 fresh Ultrafire 18650's. I'll post back when they die. Hopefully that won't be within a few days lol :]

All that I have left to do a put some adhesive copper for the top batt. contacts. It's in the mail. And cover up that super glue mess lol. I was thinking of putting in a barrel jack for charging/PT. But I figured it would take too long being tethered. One 18650 sounds like the right balance though.

Looking back, doing the whole homemade thang was satisfying, but again, it was also A LOT of work. If I was to do this again, I would shop around for a hollow shell. 1/4" walls and 2 18650s doesn't feel heavy at all. Feels a tad heavier than metal tube mods.

+ 1 cookie if you know the logo Mr. Fawkes. :D

Here's all the images I got. Yellow wire is the + battery wire. I wish I could have put the potentiometer in the caparment with the switch. But it was too busy in there. imgur: the simple image sharer

Ya your gonna want ti get better batteries. I first bought a set of 4 ultrafire "4100mah" 18650s before doing my home work and they are junk Chinese knockoffs/recycled units I had 2 in parallel only pushing a 2ohm coil at 10w and they only lasted a couple hours 4 at most. The noname ones I bought from my local vape shop lasted almost 3days.
I got some new 30a high drain one's now Im saving for a proper set up..
PS: the pick in your last post is broken

The batts. in the first image are junk nonames. Lasts only a few hours. $1.50 a pair tho.

The batts. in last image are UF's from battery junction $10 each. They last a day and a half each. Even after like 6 months.

I know there are better batts. out there, but I don't want to spend $20 on a battery lol.
