Seems like all these Stardust type clearos have kind of a muted taste after a while. Does that apply to the newest versions or are they pretty much the same? I've been wanting to try the new Vision 2.0 and Thor, they look promising but who knows?

My CE5 is so far so good, good flavor, am on 3rd tank full. No leaking, others in the GV alpha have reported leaking issues, and a couple DOA. Seeing how this is brand new I assume it will take a couple manufacturing runs to get them consistent. I have learned with any vape gear buying something that just came out is a crap shoot. I usually wait a while for the 2nd version or revision so they can work the kinks out.

CE5 is not a startdust, even though the plastic is in the same shape, I have but have not yet tied the newest startdusts aka eGo vision

I think the thing that throws me, and I think others, is for a Long Time anything "CE_" as made by MiT and Sld by Royal Smokers.

Now every time I turn around there is a CEsomething popping up.

I looked at the verified CE5's and am wondering this looks like a carto clearo combo lol. I wonder what is inside the feed tube? It has feeder holes like a dcc/tank setup... I hope its not filler :p

"ALPHA Product - CE5 Top Coil 1.6ml 2.4-2.6ohms
$2.99
Nearly identical to our Stardust in every way (as you can see from the product picture). I will paste the text of my peview from the ALPHA thread:

"This one is very interesting and I am trying to suss out more info on it.

What we have here basically looks like our stardust but with no exposed wick. Same screw top mouthpiece, same gradations on side of clearo, same plastic and same steel conical pip jutting out of the silicone condom covering the atomizer. It is top coil.

It has four holes punched into the center tube, two at the top and two at the cottom. My rep from our Joyetech distributor says that it has wicking inisde but it actually looks more like a filler sheathing pressed against the inside of the tube.

I filled and am vaping HUSH in one and it is working like gangbusters. I want to vape it all the way down past the bottom hole and see what happens. It looks like it has a very very good seal at the bottom and so far not even close to a leak but I have only been using it for the past 20 minutes.

Flavor is very clean and very true."

I have tried a few Different Versions and they All seem to Taste about the same.

For anyone who has used a CE2 knows, One Factor of Flavor is how far the Atomizer Coil is from your lips. With a CE2 it is Very Close. With others, not so close.

I'm new to vaping so take my words with a grain of salt.

I just received a ce5 "EGO" clearomizer from Amazon (Vendor "Healthy Vapor"). All looks right. rebuildable with no exposed wicks.

Dropped in some watermelon from chi town vapors 50/50.
Intense throat hit (too much IMO), much more vapor than the joye510 atty I had - which I still think was defecto. Way smoother than the atty too, but I still think I need to drop PG on my next liquid orders.
However, NO flavor. Not even a hint.
I put in a few drops of strawberry (also chi town 50/50) and can taste a tiny hint of sweet fruit, but barely.

All in all, I'm overjoyed to have anything working on my 510 joye. BUT I am left for a want of flavor.

From what I have read from many people many new tanks or clearos have a break in period before full flavor is achieved, give it between 1/2 and a full tank, may get better.

Hard to tell what is going on when someone has a Problem with a Carto if we don't know the Carto Ohms and the Output Voltage it is being used.

There is a Longer Break-In on these. Did it get better at the end of the tank?

Its still brand new. So probably break in. Like I said, I'm still really new to this stuff and figuring it all out.

I can't pinpoint exact ohms, amazon removed the listing and that info is not on my invoice.
I'm positive I checked it was over 2.5ohms, otherwise I wouldnt have ordered it. Vapor is cold-mild temperature on 3.7v 180mah joye510. Note: I wasnt worried about killing the batt, as I plan on ordering an ego twist in the next day or so.

I sent an email to vendor asking about ohms

Yeah... I would run a tank thru it and see how it does.

2.5ohm @ 3.7volts = 5.47 watts. Not exactly a Barn Burner Wattage but not that bad either.

Checking in. I've run maybe 1.6-2.0ml through this. (don't vape often).
Anywho, flavor came through after about a tankfull. What a pain, it felt like forever.

Flavor, throat hit & heat is very muted compared to a carto or atomizer. I have to exhale through my nose to taste much of anything. Not very easy to fill (suggest a syringe). But it's pretty consistent, which is a plus. These are supposed to be top coil.

I also got a reply from my vendor. The Ohms on mine is 2.5-2.9

Don't want to muddy the water, but if you hop over to discount vapers you can find yet ANOTHER CE5! The one on their site is rebuildable also, but the guts are totally different. Theirs is basically a CE2 placed inside the tank (Stardust style). If you are absolutely in love with the CE2 vape, you may wish to try just one of these. I've got several. They give a pretty good vape like the CE2, and require all the fiddling you remember. Other than that, when they don't give slight leaking problems they vape really well.

Good to hear that it was not a complete waste.

I would call these a Mid-Coil but what do I know.

Another CE5?

Jeeze, these things are Popping up like Mushrooms after a Spring Rain.

I'm not sure I even know what a CE5 is anymore. Or who is supposed to be the OEM?
