Out of three I just bought, 2 won't screw on (while they do on my ego batt) and the other one barely screws on but does not fire. Anybody else experiencing this with Avidvaper's 510s?

I know there was a thread recently with a non-brand specified 306 doing the same thing. But I'm wondering about the Ciscos 510s specifically. Kind of disheartening having to put my reo aside for the ego... Although, strangly enough, Avid's Arero Bridgeless works fine on my reo mini. (wow, that's one WARM vape.!)

The wife uses them all the time. Email Cisco and let him know.

Had the same problem. I was ordering 1.8 and 2.0 Cisco's. One time one of them (1.8's or 2.0's) were too tight to screw on my Mini, so I used them on my Grand. The next time the other ohm wouldn't fit on my Grand, so I used them on my Mini. So, I emailed Rob. He said sometimes the atty makers get sloppy with their machining of threads and because I asked, he gave me the email address of where I could buy a bottoming tap for my Reo's or I could send them to him and he'll fix them. Although, he assured me there was nothing wrong with the connectors.

If there was nothing wrong with the connectors, then he was probably going to use an over size bottoming tap, which would possibly make atty's, made by mfr's other than Cisco, fit sloppy. So, I decided I didn't want to mess with the connectors on my Reo's, and I bought a 7mm X 0.5 threading die from Amazon (less than $10) and chased (re-threaded) the Cisco's using a little WD-40 as a lubricant. If you try this, be extra careful not to cross thread them. Practice on dead atty's first.

Thanks for that info, Skeeter. I can't say I know what a bottoming tap is, but I have wondered how one goes about making a thread to fit something... if it was even possible short of taking it to a machine shop. I now know that one can buy a threading die... cheap too. Good to know.

Avidvaper has agreed to replace the attys, and mentioned that they will test them (and the ones I send back) on their in-house reo. Avidvaper stands in good stead with me. These are good people.

Also, I highly recommend the Aero Bridgeless 1.5ohm atty. I works like a charm providing rich flavor and the warmest vapor at 3.7v that I've experienced so far in my short vaping career.

I've had issues with my most recent order too. Out of 6, one didn't fit and two only lasted a day or two. I've never had issues with the Ciscos 2.0 LRs before. One usually lasts me a week or more, but I need to make another order after only 2 weeks. I only stumbled on this thread because I was looking to see what other people are using in case I wanted to switch atties. It's good to know though that I'm not the only one having issues.

I just received 10 of them and none of them screw onto my reos without excessive force. however, they screw onto the 510-510 adapter that I use with my drip shield. I haven't decided whether or not to email them about this issue because I never use a reo without a drip shield. Too much of a pain cleaning the drip cup when I'm out and about.

Okay...I've been in communication with both Cisco and Rob. What is occurring here is a tolerance issue. This comes from both the manufacturers of the atties and the atty connectors. The threading tolerances are really tight and it doesn't take much to throw them off. Here is what Rob does....his mods are all tested before they are packaged with two atomizers to make sure the threading ...and likewise, when Cisco knows that an order is going to a REO owner, he tests them on his REO as well. Both Rob and Cisco are doing all they can to make sure the occurrences are minimal. However, some just aren't going to fit as intended.

Cisco has stated that he is willing to take any atomizers that don't fit back and either fix them or replace them. Which is fine if this is a rare problem for you.

Rob also is willing to do what he can to take care this....so, you are welcome to send your mod back to him so that he can re-tap the threads. When you send it in to him include a note with your name, address, email address you ordered with and a brief note of what you need done. His address is

Chasing (re-threading) the 510 threads on an atty (or carto) with a threading die is really no big deal. It only takes a minute. Squirt a little WD-40 on the atty threads, then engage one thread of the atty in the die, make sure the atty is perpendicular to the face of the die and screw it in. Wipe the threads off with a rag and you're good to go.

The threads on the atty my be a little sharp because they aren't deburred, but you can use a Brillo Pad or some steel wool to deburr them.

The brass threads on the atty are much softer than the steel threads on the connector, so screwing the atty on the connector will crush some of the burrs on the atty. If Cisco or any other atty manufacturer makes some loose fitting (under tolerance) atty's, then retapping the connector to accommodate tight fitting (over tolerance) atty's isn't a good idea, because then the loose fitting atty's will really be loose and may wobble a bit.

Just a quick update folks. I wanted to let everybody know that Avidvaper has made good on replacing my attys and they all fit my mini just fine. They even threw in an extra one at no charge. That's cool! I was getting a little antsy there for a while as some period of time went by without hearing anything from them, but it turns out that was because of the holidays.

So all is well. Just wanted to let everybody know that Avid WILL take care of you if you have threading issues on your REO.
