At the shore...
My fellow reonauts,

I felt the need to drop in and explain my absence from the forum over the past two weeks. Two words:

Breaking Bad.

Mainly due to this thread and some prompting from a couple mates I work with, I signed up for Netflix and over the past three weeks I have consumed 58 episodes. Yes, a 2,784 minute time sink has eaten into my existence. I can assure you this was no small feat for someone who works a 12hr shift. After seasons 1-5a on Netflix, I watched season 5, episodes 9-10 on Charter 'on demand'. Last night I grabbed episode 11 at 8:00 followed by the most recent, episode 12 at 9:00.

So that's it, all caught up. What a ride. My daughter and I were totally hooked from the first episode, even the wife saw the light and started watching with us.

If by slight chance anyone missed me or wondered what was up with cho, just blame Heisenberg.

cheers

OH. MY. GAWD. You must be exhausted. Of course we missed you! Damn Heisenberg...he just pulls you in.

Soooo....whatcha think?

whew... glad i avoided this thread until now

i had my daughter (visitation) this weekend. that meant Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and lots and lots and lots of My Little Pony. no chance to watch BB last night. just got caught up thanks to "On Demand"

i'll have to watch the episode again to figure out what's really going on, but at least it countered the diabetic sugar coma that My Little Pony OD had triggered :)

Exhausted yes, but it's the good kind. As for what I thought, well my other all time favorites have been Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire. BB appeals to me every bit as much as Sopranos, watching the evolution of Walter is like watching a train wreck. I noticed that episode 5-13 of BB airs on AMC at 9:00pm on September 8th, same time that that season premier of Boardwalk Empire airs on HBO.

So I look at my daughter with the 'what's it going to be look', and we were in agreement. Breaking Bad has priority. I think BB is one of those shows that you either love or hate. At least, that's the impression I get from my co-workers. Apparently, I'm on the love it side.

As long as the first episode you see isn't "The Fly"... That was the first episode I saw, and basically wrote the show off. Got caught up in the hype before Season 4 started, and binge watched the first three seasons. After that, the fly episode made more sense.

This is one of those shows which requires the viewer to pay attention. Some shows you can have playing in the background -- not really watching but you're able to keep up. Breaking Bad is full of nuance.

As we get closer to the end, I become more anxious. I know...that's just plain illogical. It's JUST a TV show.

I got my uncle into it about a week ago. Yesterday, he asks me, "How can they make a whole episode about a fly?!"
"But, it was still a good one though, right?"
"Yeah. It really was."
:D

And, not to spoil anything, but I had to laugh out loud during this weeks best line:
"I'll heat up some lasagna."

Yeah....that was hysterical. Just as though the situation was no big deal.
