I had posted a reply under success stories thread but need some help but decided to start my first thread. Wish it could have been a better topic! After 10 months of success analog free using an e cig which only supplied prefilled carts of pg juice found this wonderful forum. Thanks ECF, to find a bigger and better PV and am ever so glad I did but found after a month using my bigger rig and a variety of juices I developed dry skin in the sinus areas of my face. Between the eyebrows, the upper side of my eye lids and along both sides of my nose. I have never had problems with my skin in the past. I first thought it maybe the fluval I tried as a cart mod so quit that for a month, no change. I then thought it maybe vg, hard to believe as it can be used to prevent such an issue. Any thoughts??

As nonmalum said, hydration is important. I drink plenty of water all day but I still get occasional "flakies" just under my brows, and across the eyelids toward the bridge of my nose.

On a whim, one night before bed I put a drop of pure USP VG on my thumb and massaged it into the flaky areas. Next morning the flakies were gone. They come back periodically but a couple of VG rubdowns and they disappear.

VG is also works wonders on dry, chapped hands and dermatitis flare-ups if anyone's predisposed to them (I am). I actually carry a 3ml bottle of VG in my pocket specifically labeled as "skin care".

You might wanna give it a shot and see if it works for you too.

As the pros above mentioned try VG and most importantly drink double the amount of water you normally would. I have dry skin to begin with but when I started to vape my face was so dry it felt like my skin was cracking. Now I drink aprox 3 liters of water daily and everything is fine and my face is as soft as before.

Edit: I had some signs of allergies to 100% PG juice and the dry skin occur d in the same time I would really go with max 20% Pg as the person above said and with the right unit you will still get a nice TH and + the water you should be in A+ shape.

Yes, I get exactly the same thing! Doesn't bother me though, I just rub in a little cream at bedtime. Btw, started a couple of months ago (about where you're at); not a precursor to allergy; no other probs.

Depending on the juice, I'm vaping 50/50 to 80/20. Never considered the flakies may be some sort of reaction to the PG. I'm coming up on the ten month mark and so far a little flaky skin and a compulsion to drink water is the worst I've experienced.

I'll pay more attention to the flakies whne they recur and see if they correlate to vaping higher PG juice. We're all different though so what happens to or works for me may not be the same for others.

If it persists or starts to feel leathery, go see a doctor. A few years ago, I had similar situation and it began to get leathery feeling and then started to look like orange peel. I finally went to see my Dr. and he said that I had almost waited too long. It turned out to be a rather serious type of dermatitis. His concern was that being close to the eyes and nasal membranes could have allowed the infection to spread into the brain. It was a bacterial thing, so was treatable with antibiotics and eventually went away, but did leave a small scar on the bridge of my nose. I hope that it is not the same thing, but better safe than sorry.

It sounds more like a dermatitis to me. If you were just dehydrated you'd have dry/itchy skin all over. A little glycerin or an oatmeal mask could help relieve the symptoms. BUT it won't go away until you stop exposing yourself to whatever you're allergic to.

It doesn't necessarily have to be vaping- a new skin cream, shampoo, facial wash, or even food could be doing it too. A lot of companies are changing their preservative systems away from parabens- so even if you've used the same thing for years, the formula may have changed lately. I'm allergic to mangos- I never figured it out until I made some chutney and broke out big time.

Not exactly the same thing, but in the same place-i have a mean, ugly zit for the 2nd time since I quit smoking at the beginning of March. Probably just a manifestation of quitzits, but it's peculiar that it's in the same place. I've really joined the hydration camp over the last few days, and hopefully that helps.

When I started vaping I was using 80%pg/20%vg, and the skin on both sides of my nose and between my eyebrows got really dry. I couldn't leave my house without carrying two big bottles of water around. I was like that for seven months, figured the PG was making me thirsty, and being 50 meant my skin was getting dryer. Then I switched to vaping 50/50 juices, and some all VG. The dry skin is gone. I am still drinking water, but not anything like I was when I was vaping a higher PG. Velvet Vapors has organic VG juice, I would suggest trying to vape VG only, or try Kick Bass Vapors, their juice is 40PG/60VG.
