Well got the twist in green but they had no nova minis, so went with a Stardust v2...

I'm not sure what top coil needs to be broken in means, but I can tell you it tastes like plastic or chemical right now. I prefer to toss my 510 atomizers on the twist compared to this thing.

Hopefully I can find an online store that is under $10 shipping to get a vivid nova mini next week.

Sorry I've never used a stardust, but I bought my firebird bottom coil cartomizers at Canvape. They are awesome. Have had the same ones since I started in December. They will run you about 10$ for 5. They hold 1.5 ml. You can't beat them for taste or vapor- no heads or wicks to change and easy to clean and refill. They come with a syringe and a tip. You use the syringe to fill them. I have picked them up at the flea market in Brampton. I have tried all different kinds and these work the best for me. Don't give up- once you find something that works for you, it gets easier. They work with the Twist and Mini as well. They are also called Ce3's

There's another thread about that burning taste with a possible solution: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...taste-vision-ego-stardust-v2-clearomizer.html

Otherwise, hold out for the VV Nova Mini. Or the EVOD (I got both from CanVape) which I'm using right now with my Twist and which I love. Sounds like you just got unlucky with the carto tank. It'll get better!

Canvape has a booth at the market down the street that's open every weekend so will give the twist a try and get another twist if needed next weekend.

How is that location? I'm assuming your talking about 747 market. I went there yesterday and I couldn't even find the place:facepalm: it was a mad house in there. They say that they are located in building one.....but the building was closed and I was told that everyone was placed into the other buildings. I was so looking forward to checking them but it was a crazy maze got frustrated and left after 1/2hr of looking

Last attempt before tossing the Stardust seems to work. Ended up recoiling the wick since it looked a little too loose. Still a bit of a odd taste in it but allot less noticeable, wasn't being very careful putting the wick back so.may have slightly loosened an end will take a look after its empty.

747 seems good its in the building closest to Steele's in the far back corner closest to steeles

Well 2 weeks later and still no analogs :)

Got another twist and a couple more stardusts, I just make sure the plastic ring for the coil is pushed down below where the wick comes in and they work great. Also have a couple vivi nova minis that I also love.

I've found having a bottle of menthol is a must. If I get a new liquid that is just OK adding menthol tends to make me enjoy it lol.

Best juices so far for me is cherry cola, dekang ry4, iced cap with menthol is great.

Flavors I hate are pure tobacco any and all of them I hate ashtray taste lol, dekang vanilla and the worst Dr. Pepper had such promise but is the worst taste ever!

A good tip for others wanting to quit analogs just pick a day when you will be at home and have no analogs to smoke and just rely on your pv for the day. Try it for a day and if it goes well try for the next day and so on.

I felt the same as you when I started.
My first PV was a cigarette type. I found it didn't give enough vapor or throat hit to satisfy me. I used to take large drags off of cigarettes so was expecting the same type of feeling from a PV.

I now use a Stardust V2 on different eGo batteries. I have a USB passthrough 650mAh and two mini eGo 400mAh batteries.
I've also got a mini Vivi Nova and an EVOD but nothing gives me the throat hit that the Stardust does. The next closest for me is low resistance Boge cartomizers.

Like you, I find I need menthol to get any hit from a juice. I started with menthol because I used to smoke menthol cigarettes. I've tried other liquids, vanilla and black cherry, but find I only enjoy them if I mix them at about 20/80 with menthol.

My vivi nova mini took a bit to break in I switched to the 1.8ohm head and run it at 3.6 - 3.7 volts and seem to like it better now. I just like the idea of having a metal tank rather than plastic that can break down and end up smoking the plastic. I would prefer a glass tube but haven't found any tanks small like the mini nova and stardust size. I still love my stardust but the mini nova are growing on me.

One of my first threads brought back to life...

7 weeks later and still smoke free, the ego twists and vivi Nova minis are what did it for me and can't recommend them enough. As for nic I am back at 12mg with 6 mg when chain vaping allot and also into easy DIY. Picking up an innokin SVD tomorrow for my first apv and plan to get a genesis style rba in the near future.

Vaping has become a fun hobby for me and doubt I could have quit smoking without it.

Thanks for all the great advice and help I received here on these great forums, the members have made this the best vaping forum around.

Yep. I started off with the eGo-C Twists, Vivi Novas, and 24mg juice. After nearly 2 months, I've decreased nic content to 18mg and will probably order 12mg next month. I'm on week 2 with the Vamo and it's doing the job very well and lasts much longer than the Twists do. The Vivi's are collecting dust at this point as the Protanks are now my favorite clearo of choice for now. You've seen the stainless steel replacement for the Protank haven't you?

I quit on the 510s and still use my 510 with a LR boge. Not the best vape in the world, but great when I need something tiny. I actually quit on this 510 with the lipton tea bag mod and ultimate vanilla from GRBC. Boy does that bring back memories. :) Anyway, the protank sits on my vamo and my evods on my twists. Everything performs fantastic.

My vivi minis were the most horrible vape I've ever had, next to those old school vision clearos. To each their own, but one things for sure, if whatever floats your boat keeps you off the sticks, then you're all set.:toast:

So I'll summize that the 510 does eventually lead u to give up analogs, for some sooner some later. Main thing is most of us tend to go after a device that's cig alike the 510 and others do this. Which leads us here ECF or other places where we learn many things and ways to reach our level of quitting via PV choice, heads etc..... All hail the 510 starter, it has it's place in our Vapeing world.

I glad I didn't start with my Vamo etc, it's all part of our journey.

Now finding an ADV, thought I had it a few times but not quite, I like many liquids I've bought and am narrowing it down. But I do like the experimentation of having lots of flavors to try.
