I would rather go to the casino, it's about 45 minutes to the nearest one.

I have a web site that lets me play their slots, card and video poker free.

Another web site makes a lot of the video poker machine in the US and you can play on their web site for free and they let you have training software free sometimes or you can buy training cd for video poker and spanish blackjack and other poker games..

I am an addict to that this as well.

3:30 am in UK and just been gambling again.

Betting on Blackjack at about £50 or $75 a hand..............

mmm, makes me think if I have other problems..

Anyways, I quit when made back the £400 I lost... Ended up £175 up the night.

Anyone else gamble online ?

I am an avid Backgammon player online for money and I love that as well
Altough I am told I am pretty good at it and have made some descent money at it, I seem to spend more time and energy and money w/ my vaping and all of its insanity
I have been thru rehab for drugs and alcohol, but I have learned to know when to stop at online gambling. It can get real serious real quick, as you know
I wish you all the luck in the world

Full disclosure - I work for a large gaming company. People gambling in casinos pay my mortgage and feed my kids.

That being said, I'd be very hesitant to gamble on the internet. The controls which exist in casinos simply don't exist there, and you have no way of knowing if you're being cheated.

always supsected it.. As long as the % work out, then forget the large gambler. They become one of the stats swamped by the lower wagers ;)

I would certainly agree with this when it comes to online slots, BJ, etc..where the casino's aim is to get your money. However the mainstream poker rooms get a rake (ring games) or entry fee (tourneys) whether I win or lose. So I am much more confident in their integrity.

As far as collusion between players, I suppose it is possible, but these site have very sophisticated methods for detecting that sort of behavior. And one other important point, even colluding won't help a bad player. Poker is a game largely of skill with a small element of luck. Slots for example isall luck with no skill. In those types of games cheating can make a winner out of a loser. It is much more difficult in poker because there is a certtain skill level involved............... Skad work in the industry so I defer to his (her??) expertise, but I will tell you that I am up about $125,000 over the past 4 years of playing poker online.

Poker is of course a different animal. There have been cases of people using bots to cheat them of course, but that's much less likely then being cheated online from games of pure chance where you are relying on an RNG which is untested and programmed by an unknown person. The RNGs in a legal slot machine have been extensively tested to insure fairness.

Edit: RNG = Random number generator. They are what determines winners in all modern slots.

I have fooled with the bots a little bit. They, strictly speaking are not designed to "cheat". They are designed to make the best % play based upon hand strength, pod, odds, implied odds, etc........... I have been on the bot forums and the most common use is to take advantage of the rakeback bonuses that many online card rooms offer new players. I would be skeptical that I would ever get my money out from some of the smaller lesser know card rooms..........

I dinked with them for only a short time only, mostly to learn what I could be up against. I actually enjoy playing, and to me, the bot would defeat the purpose and detract from my enjoyment.
