No need to start a flame war. I decided which system to buy a year and a half ago with ZERO regrets. Sony was my exclusive console supplier for over 10 years (PS1 and 2), but not this go round.

LOL..Yeah I bought a Sega Genesis (Megadrive) about 19 years ago.

I know I'm a sucker for retro stuff but theres some great games to be played with the Mega Drive and some fancy new ways to play them too You can get a cartridge that lets you burn games onto CDR and stick them in the Mega CD!! I have been having some fun with my PSP lately, hacked it and now it plays Mega Drive games through an emulator, unfortunately that emulator does not support the game genie DOH!! Guess I will be needing a small netbook to have fun with that!

I have downloaded a few emulators for my PC's before when I want some "old school".
Use my PSP when traveling. Lumines II is in it 90% of the time.
P.S. Still have my Genesis and a bunch of games in a closet.

MLB 09: The Show has taken all my free time! Road to the Show mode is like crack.
Me too, mine hides away in a box close by for emergencies hehe, sometimes emulators just don't feel right and its time to crack out the real thing! My favourites are the Sonic games especially Sonic and Knuckles with Sonic 3 lock-on(all levels available from both games and cheat easy to do hehe) and Sonic CD I also have a thing for Toejam & Earl
Another Xbox360 gamer here I also have a PS1, original Xbox and a PSP so I guess that makes me platform agnostic.

Consoles suck to be honest. I have a ps3 and while its a great console I very rarely use it. I am how ever on my PC every night playing COD4 with my clan.

Thousands upon thousands of dedicated servers. None of this (click play and it drops you in a random server crap which is GAY)

Ehh..I used to be into keeping up with the PC gaming crowd.Spending $$$ often to play the latest and greatest.
But my console (which starts at less than $200 now) plays a good looking game to me.
Plays them better than my 6 month old PC can ever dream of (and it cost alot more than 200 bucks).
Left 4 Dead,Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 looks fantastic on my brother in laws PC. But it doesnt look "thousands of dollars invested in hardware to run it" better compared to my Xbox.
Your other advantages are valid,but im done spending that kind of money for what amounts to a "toy".
I'll compromise and pocket the savings.

Ahh but with the consoles they cost less, come with handy controllers (hopefully 2 or more hehe) don't need to be upgraded too often, boot up faster, crash less, don't click and crunch all the time (usually) and naturally like to live under the telly! Of course the PC is still awesome for games what with a mouse and all that!!
I have the Wii too, its a great little machine, it lives in a blue box so I can take it to my brother's house where it sees the most use, we have many games but play Wii sports the most strangely enough!! The wii seems not much fun to play alone tho
