Anyone else like 3.7V more than 5V on their Prodigy?

I get around 4-6 hours off my 2 month old Protege batteries. I vape around 2-3 ml's per day.

I haven't tested a full discharge cycle on the 18650 battery for the V1. Lasts a whole day and I charge it up at night. Hasn't died in a full days use yet.

You can only use the 14500 battery in the Protege.

Some people go a full work day on one 14500 battery. I guess it all depends on how much you vape and where your battery is in its' life cycle.

The only way I can foresee a V2 achieving 3.7 volts is by using an un-resistored (ie: copper) disk with a 3.7 volts RCR123a battery and a dummy spacer for the second battery that's supposed to be there. The bits and pieces already exist for the dummy spacer, we just need the copper contact disk.

Interesting concept. The copper ring is the easiest to fab if you don't want to wait for PS to supply them.

Where are the bits & pieces for a dummy spacer?

The only downside is that you'll only get 750mAh out of a single RCR123A.

I'm still puzzled about the fit on a 17670 in the V2. It says they're 17mm wide. I just measured my LifePo RCR123A batt and it's exactly 17mm. The 1800 mAh life would be great. I have to take Steve's word that they're too wide. The only thing I can figure is that the published specs on the 17670 must be off.

Update to my first post above ^

A. I've started using Atomz / Cartomizers almost exclusively.
B. After receiving the V2 I'm really liking the 5v on the carts. I mainly use it at the house because of the huge plumes of vapor it puts out :w00t: No way I could cruise that thing in my office. Someone would be hitting the fire alarm.

What is the Battery life (charge) for the Protege?

6hrs
12hrs
1 Day

I can run almost all day long on the Protege with one batt.
I usually change it out in the evening @r 8pm if it's dead or not.
A few of my batts seem to last longer than others and I'm a fairly steady vaper.

The Protege is definately a nice stealthy long life 3.7 device.

I'm totally lost on which to buy, the V2 or the Protege. I've never had a high voltage device but the thought of not having to take a 20 second long drag to be satisfied is what intrigues me most. So I guess consistent/big vapor production is what I'm looking for. Battery life would be nice too. I was just about to order a V2 and now I'm wondering if the 510 in the Protege would be better.

Is a 3.7v option in the foreseeable future for the v2? I'd feel more confident in buying it if I knew I might be able to downgrade if I needed. If not, I'll just get the Protege and continue wondering what the fuss is over high voltage.

everyone likes something different.

3.7 (protege) is perfect for me with 510.

I'm really hoping that 5v is what i am looking for. 3.7 is "ok" and 6v is way too much. Hoping the 5v is where it's at............

All 5 volt lovers say the same thing regarding 3.7v and 6v it seems ;) 3.7v is only "ok" (rather than poor) if i stack 3 inhales like a sandwich in my lungs for maximum throat hit / vapor density... otherwise 3.7v to me is like sucking flavored air with vapor effect. I haven't experienced 6v but I've read far too many who have said it 1. "drinks juice" and 2. "better potential of killing an atty" unless you keep it wet (see #1). I find it ridiculous at best that there are mods out there that will run to 11v.

I'm a 24mg (sometimes 18mg) vaper at 5v and it packs enough punch with nominal juice consumption. I used to use carts, but moved to 100% dripping after moving from plastic tips to Super T Manufacturing's brass T-tips. Straight dripping will make your juice last longer and ensures you aren't vaping any cart filler (e.g. when it gets too dry) that stands to totally corrupt the taste of the juice.

It's pretty clear to me now (after over a year of experimenting) that I've found a cozy home dripping @ 5v on a 510.
