Anyone else notice this when E-cigs first came out?

When I bought my first ecig kit a few years back it was the smoking anywhere one. It was one of those "pull" activated ones. It did the trick, but when I got back into ecigs at the end of last year, I started with a disposable push button one and it was sooooo much better than my earlier kit. Is this because manual ecigs are just better for some reason or is it because of the technology advancing or perhaps both?

It's the manual battery. When you have an automatic battery, any little movement can set the thing off (using power) With the manual, you have to push the button, thus you are only activating it when you want it, and saving that power for when you want it.

Technology seems to be advancing at the speed of light. I'm only coming up on my first year yet what I started with seems to already be "old technology" and it was an eGo! However the original Joye eGo I can no longer seem to find on LF like they've been phased out the tank system, eGo C, twist, ect taking its place.

Probably a combination of factors:
1. Different model
2. Manual does give more flexibility
3. Liquid used in the two different e-cigs.

Your specific experience aside, the offerings today are far more numerous and, in many cases, far superior to what existed only 1 year ago.

Manuals are better because the user controls the vape...not the ecig like an auto.

I know the feeling! The first kit that introduced me to e cigs was a free kit (they sure as hell don't offer the same type of deals anymore) from Knight Sticks and as long as you canceled your automatic refill membership you had to sign up for before the 15 day period you got to keep the kit without being billed $109. Boy the days gone bye!

Some of the automatic batteries, like Bloog, Volt and Echo, have actually gotten much better. Easier draw to activate, good power output and not activated by sound. Manual batteries are generally much preferable for the reasons stated above, though.

Even auto bats have evolved, and there are some pretty good ones on the market now.

Yes I remember the first ones, they were all cheaply made and a real disaster in most cases, actually then I got one and threw it in the bin after the secon day. As people started to get more interested now the quality really improved because of the investment poured in R&D. I sure hope they don't pull it away.

i started with the old three piece e-cigs and they were crap so i gave up. then a year later they had stuff thats way better and nom they have great stuff. i wonder what will be out there next year?

Manual batteries have always provided a better vaping experience and still do. Auto's have gotten better but still can't match some of the advantages of manuals.

New autos are so much better. Mine is no longer dead from vibration after a 30 min motorcycle ride and it is sealed, making it less vulnerable to leak damage.

Ya it's all came along. Juices and equipment. I quit vaping a few years ago and recently restarted. Having much better success now. And no trouble avoiding those dreaded cigarettes either.

Ya, I started vaping in 2010 and it only lasted about a year and I was still sneaking analogs every now and then. I was using one of the first Volcano ecigs (like Blu). I started again the first of this year with an 808 and haven't touched an analog since!

I would say it's a combination of both. When I started 3 years ago, it was with an 801 shipped from china. The vapor from it was pretty reasonable. The problem was, it wasn't consistant, and the batteries were pretty bad. I had to carry 5 or more batteries on me at a time since I had no idea how long each one would last after charging. Some would last 15 minutes, other would last an hour, and some would only last a couple hits. I got tired of going without after carrying just 2 and finding both dead while at work or out and about, so I started carrying a bunch. Not to mention the atomizers randomly going dead out of nowhere. Luckily the ego and it being extremely dependable along with cartomizers changed all that for me, and I've been an ego-lover ever since.

problem with auto batteries is the hole in the middle.. you get juice down there you might as well chuck it out the window
