I have been vaping for over a year now and it has gotten to the point that I get 2 basic reactions. One is people wanting to know all about vaping and asking all different kinds of questions because I use a more advanced mod than what they see on TV. The other reaction is scorn. At one point I was at a friends party and it was being held outside and someone had their kids guessing ages ranged from 8-12 and I was vaping and the kids crowded around me and began to lecture me on how smoking is bad for me and that I needed to quit. I told them I wasn't vaping and that I even though I was vaping I had stepped away from the crowd. I began to get very irritated as these children continued that it is the same thing. I asked how they knew that. Well so and so said this who heard from...etc. I asked them if it was still the same thing if I was vaping with 0mg Nicotine E-juice. They replied with yes and I asked why. Because of the nicotine and chemicals, I happened to know exactly what is in my e-liquid and I told them that. I had to walk away with parting words of don't believe everything you hear. From Kids! Adults just give me dirty disgusted looks and walk on.
Anyone else run into this?

yeah same thing here I had to convince the wife of it first. then most people are just curious as to what it tastes like but I treat it just like an analog and smoke where designated except my house where I vape away inside but id say I've had about 75% positive feedback from it so far.

I've been pretty lucky - most ask about it and are just glad to know that I've quit smoking. I'd tell those little rugrats to go look it up on the internet.... Yes, they'll likely find opinions from both sides (and obviously they don't understand what ZERO nic juice is.... yard apes.....)
You keep doing what you're doing, and be glad of those asking "more advanced" questions, rather than condemning.....

Honestly, both smoking and vaping are bad.
If I could have quit smoking cold turkey, I would have.
Given my options, I chose vaping in an attempt to reduce the harm.

Yes I pretty much just do my thing and walk away if my frustration rises. I just get annoyed at times.
Mostly I've run into questioning people who just want to know what it is and how it works. On the rare occasion I do run into a scornful person, I tend to try to explain and educate them, but if that doesn't work I have no problem walking away and leaving them to their false beliefs and predjudices.
I mostly get curiosity, so far no scorn in over a year. But I live in a small town where smoking is still allowed in bars and restuarants. In my experience, most people that are non-smokers actually have positive things to say. The smokers are mostly curious, especially about the cost, and if it worked.
Thanks everyone! Just nice to know and get some ideas from others. Generally I also do follow the same rules and regulations as smokers rules but also where I live is farm country but work and have friends in the cities that I will go to visit. So it is not a constant, heck my neighbor vapes but I just get frustrated because I know how to handle adults, it's the smart mouth kids that don't take the hint when you continuously move away from them. Kids are kids I guess.
i get weird looks all the time. it bothered me at first now I just smile and enjoy it. I think I get mixed looks of curiousity and anger. I think people think I am vaping something that may contain T H C.
I think the best thing would have been to ask the kids if their parents tell them that Candy is bad for them? They will most likely say "yes". Then ask them if they still eat Candy? Then ask them why? They are bound to say because they like it. Then just tell them that you feel the same way about your Vapeing.
Yeah the t h c stigma on it is a pain... but really people just need a better information source on it. Their still learning about it and the health affects but most people if you quit smoking because of vapes will leave you alone about it.

I have an inherent dislike for children (another than my nieces and nephews who I watch during the day sometimes). You're a saint for putting up with them for that long!
