I change up my avatar a lot (I get bored) but the one I have now of me laughing in the car in front of a high end store....I was laughing because these uppity ladies were GLARING at me in the parking lot because I was vaping! Like mean, disgusted glares. I just got done "coaching" my friend about Ecigs/vaping because he said it was worse than smoking, blah, blah..
I told him that most people don't know squat about vaping and I catch people STARING at me like I'm an alien. We walked out to my car and these ladies were outside of their car talking and staring at me as I was walking and vaping. It was hilarious and we both started cracking up because i had JUST talked about this literally seconds prior.
My friend captured the pic, the ladies were by the car next to mine. I purposely and PROUDLY started vaping again in my car (which I never do) and it makes me smile when I see this pic because I find other people's ignorance humorous.
I've been using a box mod quite a bit lately. People don't seem to grasp it at all. I supposed I must look like I'm sucking on a burning old style cell phone.
ETA: Actually, that just made me think of something. I could could a prescription label around it.

I use mine just about everywhere. If questioned or confronted I explain. It others are still opposed Ill stop. Till we get more exposer and more info gets out there we as vapors still have to play nice. Change is coming its just gonna take time.

Wow, Nitty! Either I don't do much public vaping or I have one of those faces that makes people want to ask me stuff. Waiting for Ocelot to advise me on Hawaiian prints...
But I get bombarded with questions about my PV and this... "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is that thing?" from people a bit closer to me.
Overall, I would say that there are just people who lack the courage to ask anything; those might be the types who whisper instead of flat out asking. I used to get peeved walking around in DC and watching people look away or look down instead of eye to eye contact; until I realized that they were just shy or scared.
Don't take it to heart, I am sure it's not your gills. I mean it's 2013, aren't gills all the rage now?

Been vaping box mods for years. Funny, they hardly get a look. People figure it out, I think. Now the big metal pipe-bomb looking PV's...makes them look twice. There are usually other references to their looks too.
But a box-mod with a regular atty on it....probably 1/2 of em mistake it for a cell phone. Besides, it's 90% covered by my hand.

Actually that's not my hat, it looks like my hat, but mine has cut outs for my ears. I have another one for winter that has ear pockets sewn into it. I got it from Japan years before kitty ear hats hit the states.

Yea! I get this too, especially at red lights in the car. I can feel the stares on my head, but vape anyway. It doesn't help I'm using the iTaste 134 (with protanks), but it's my favorite mod. I also get a lot of "WOW!" comments or "What the heck is that?" Even from other vapers with the 134.
