I wouldn't know the difference, myself.

I'd use what came in the pack of kite when i rolled my own cigarettes, and i'm lame so i used one of those rolling machines. That's the extent of my experience, because at that time by the time i pay for fancier papers i could have just gotten a pack of pre-made cigarettes.

Eh. It's mostly marketing, but like NJoy there are good things about Blu. They give many people a start into vaping, and even the ones who never move on past the Blu are still ahead of the game when it comes to quitting smoking.

Unfortunately, for every one person who moves on to a good performing PV, there are probably 100+ who conclude, due to Blu's poor performance, that vaping is just another scam and keep smoking. That's what many have told me who tried Blu and similar models. If they would provide a "step-up/better battery model" as an additional option they would be moving in a better direction.

To my way of thinking:
1) Cig-a-likes are a simple way to introduce smokers to Vaping.
2) To many are built on the cheap with poor performance.
3) The Sellers have one intention - Maximum profit for minimum investment

4) it is only through the efforts of persons like those here on ECF that many/most converts really stand a chance of success in full transition.
* I base #4 on my own experience. Through shear luck I found a forum post while trying to search Google for some information on a cig-a-like issue. I spent days reading and completely changed direction, never looking back.

THANK YOU FOR MY FREEDOM ECF

Blu sucks! (too negative? lol) never helped cut my craving for regular analogs..

i switched to a 510 joyetech originally and now ego-C twist and havent looked back!

Blu are overly expensive... and their cartridges NEVER last ... they are good for the first 10-15 puffs thats about it..

dont waste your $ like I did!

There is a guy I work with that uses a rechargable cig-a-like & prefilled cartos. He doesn't want a better PV. I tried to give him an eGo, some cartos & some juice. Nope, didn't want it. I showed him how to open & refill the cartos that fit his cig-a-like. Nope, too much hassle. This has gone on for over a year, still with the cig-a-like & he's happy & doesn't ever smoke. So, what can I do for him....nothing it seems. Not everyone gets hooked on the better PV's & juice. Whatever works for you is the best ecig ever made.

Just for the heck of it, I bought a single Blu disposable from a convenience store. I wanted to know what made them essentially the leader in the e-cigarette industry. I took a puff, and I was very disappointed. The draw was terrible, and I barely exhaled any vapor. The vapor that I did exhale was clear and not cloudy. That bothers me because if I'm vaping in public, I don't want people to think that I'm chewing on an illuminating pen. The menthol flavor was also too strong. I generally use menthol liquid, but this one was too overwhelming especially if I re-inhaled my "secondhand vapor."

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Blu?

Personally I liked the disposable but not the Kit. In two weeks time, had two batteries go kaplunk, my vendor was repeatedly hung up by the company when on hold, .....Took the one kit back because of bad battery now the second kit, one of the batteries went dead. I also don't like the fact that you can't have a small item shipped first class, less than $2.00. If you do, they won't guarantee delivery. you have to use UPS and for a tiny item that is too expensive. Plus they should say they are only for very light smokers because it takes longer to charge a battery than it does to go through one. ......I am not happy with them. Happier with Walmarts Fin and my Ego's
well just my experience I guess ?

I started with Blu disposable and then ordered a Premium 100 kit. I still use that kit when out and about, or when cranking out work on my computer, as I can easily hold it between my fingers and type - don't have to push a button. The PCC is handy.

I also use egos and carto/tanks and have a Varitube. Love them all for certain times. I still like the form factor of the Blu cig-alikes the best.

Blu got me totally off the regular cigs and then along with the Egos and loose juice, I've been able to wean my nic levels down to 0 nic.

Blu is a marketing machine and they have successfully built a brand and have even given it a "cool" factor. The Deacon Frost ad is a great commercial IMHO. The problem is that they have a product that disappoints. The cigalike is the future of vaping with the general public, but other companies have versions with far better batteries. They need to develop a better battery and they need to find a better system for the cartos. The general public doesn't want to foil with filling cartos, but a pre-filled carto is going to dry out if it sits on the shelf too long. Maybe they could develop a method to separate the juice from the carto, but make it easy to fill. Since one carto could be filled 4 or 5 times, I would think they could develop a system where you buy a pack that has one cartomizer and 5 "juice packs" that could easily be screwed onto the cartomizer with some way of puncturing it to quickly fill it. Then you could unscrew the "juice pack" and throw it away.

Haha Eric
We couldn't find zig zags so we bought a package of Buglers cuz it came with free papers. Then we threw the tobacco away. LOL

Ha there you go, whatever works. I remember those old bugler packs. Too bad you don't have a friend that you could of gave it to.

If you're a regular on ECF with all the Blu bashing the questions should be "Is Blu Underrated" :)

Blu gave me my start and their 100 system really isn't bad, it got me off analogs and began what is now a year smoke free. A cig-a-like was the way to go for me as an introduction.

For myself I'm a gizmo freak, and moved on to bigger and better things, but I "paid my Blu 100 kit forward" and my friend is now smoke free (another 30+ year smoker) and has absolutely no desire for anything else.

So are there better systems out there?...most certainly, but Blu can and does work for many people and is an easy way to introduce the concept of vaping.
Many people that take up vaping aren't ready for mods or ego's and tanks and clearos. It is a great transition device that for many is all they need.
