Anyone else think Blu is overrated?

If they get you started on vaping and stop you from smoking, they're all great.
While I do entirely agree with this, I have to something to add. Blu was my second cig-a-like kit and I found it to be the biggest disappointment since the Crucifixion. Had Blu been my first vaping experience I'd still be on analogs. Fortunately, many people like them enough to be a gateway to get off of tobacco and move on to better vaping.

My advice to anyone thinking of buying Blu would be to go with the Volt instead. Much better all the way around.

Call me a conspiracy theorist...

I think The Blu line is a tool big Tobacco is using to F* us over. They know the product is sub-par. It's disruptive marketing. They can flood the market with a frustrating device and hopefully keep some of the tobacco customer base (someone recently said to me: "yeah, tried vaping, got a kit at 7/11, got frustrated, so I went back to smokes").

What's worse: owning The Blu line gives them the avenue to place an add on TV that definitely puts many people off of the whole idea: this guy in an "actor" and kind of a jerk and he keeps bloating about how he can do this ANYWHERE (personally I extend the same courtesy to people around me when I vape as I did when smoking analogs - no one wants their favorite eatery all clouded up).

The ANYWHERE message is freaking out all the non-smoker-vaper voters out there. So prime-time TV is stirring the populous about vaping in public and people buying Blu are funding the effort. It's the genius of big tobacco. They are smarter than we think they are.

I have the same love/HATE thing with the Blu. I quit smoking with those annoying little batteries and did not KILL someone--+1.
I spent far too much money and time trying to get the darn thing to vape more time than the charge time. ---- (-5)
I still miss the cherry crush flavor--- +1
I refuse to pay $15 for a box of 5 cartos (----- -10)
NO, JC Ranier is not the same.

For what they are, BLU is fine. I see their products as a great starting point for beginners. Probably half the people here started on BLU. I chose them because the JC juice in the cartos is made in the USA. I got the regular kit when they came out, then the Premium 100 kit. The batteries always disappointed me. I like the premium 100 cartos, though, so bought a Vea battery to use with them. Works great. Used that set-up until I discovered the Halo Triton. I'll still keep some premium 100 cartos around to use with Vea batteries as a backup.

There is a guy I work with that uses a rechargable cig-a-like & prefilled cartos. He doesn't want a better PV. I tried to give him an eGo, some cartos & some juice. Nope, didn't want it. I showed him how to open & refill the cartos that fit his cig-a-like. Nope, too much hassle. This has gone on for over a year, still with the cig-a-like & he's happy & doesn't ever smoke. So, what can I do for him....nothing it seems. Not everyone gets hooked on the better PV's & juice. Whatever works for you is the best ecig ever made.

I, too, use a cig-alike, a GreenSmoke kit.

I'm like your buddy; I don't want to supposedly "upgrade". I don't want to drip. I don't want to carry around a huge light-saber-looking mod. I don't want to carry around vials of different juices. My cig-alike is performing great for me, thank you very much. Been off stinkies since Feb. 24th.

I know the norm here is to bash cig-alike users as inexperienced newbies and wonder when we are going to "get real", but it's working for me and the upturned noses of non cig-alike users is getting quite old.

I have no desire to carry large equipment that blows plumes like a landscapers truck engine with blown piston rings.

NJOY Bold gets the nod from me for a starter primarily because the high nic level and the similarity to analogues is just a far better experience than the Blu, or most other widely available disposables for that matter. Clearly whatever gets you started in vaping has value but I think the product one happens to choose initially does have a big impact on how likely one is to continue and expand into the wide world of vaping. Blu, Fin, Swisher--weak intros. NJOY Bold, solid throat and nic hit--strong intro.
