I started out vaping with a Lavatube 2.5. After finding a good tank for it (Aspire BDC), I was very happy with it. Then I caught the bug and wanted to get a mech. So I ordered a Chi You 4 Seasons clone and bought a Aspire nautilus for it. I love that setup so far, by the way. Anyway, after getting the mech, I thought I would use it for everyday use, until I drove with it. Once unlocked, I can't sit the Chi down because I don't want it accidentally firing and I don't like locking and unlocking it every time I wanna take a draw. I don't like fiddling around so much while driving. So now, I use my Lavatube while driving and use my mech for everything else.

Anyone else use both? If so, why do you do so? Just curious. :)

They way it used to be, we had basically mechs and used what we could get our hands on and were happy. Then we got VV/VW and we could adjust what we could get our hands on to suit what we liked for our taste.
Now with the dawn of RBA's/RDA's we can make our atties suit anything we want buy building them ourselves.
To answer your question, I use both as well, but I'm finding myself building coils to suit my tastes at 3.7v. This is two fold for me, I get better battery life out of my Provari this way (not having to use as much of the regulation circuit) and I can pop them on any of my mechs and be happy as well.
Sorry if you didn't like the history lesson, but it used to be very hard to get atties in the resistance we wanted. We'd finally find a vendor that had the carto's we liked and they'd sell out like hot cakes and we would have to start all over again! Keep in mind, clearomizers/fluxomizer's and even the RBA's have not been around that long! Variables were a total revelation to this industry at the time!

I use both VW/VV and mech mods. For at home during the day I use my Nemesis with a Trident on top because I like dripping due to the flavor I can get off of it. When I am at work, I use my MVP2 with a PT2 on top because of the juice capacity and ease of vaping and I know it will last me an 8 hour shift. When I go to the gym (on the way there and home/in the locker room) I use my Kamry K100+ with a PT2 on top because I like the flavor I can get with a 1.2 ohm twisted 32 gauge microcoil and the battery lasts me because I am not using it that much. I use my Smok Winder with an Evod on top when I am laying in bed or watching a movie because it is very light and if I happen to fall asleep, I know the built in 10 sec cutoff will activate just in case I roll over on top of it in the middle of the night.

I use both. I use the VV mods out and about with carto tanks and the mechs at home or at the office with an rba. If anything went wrong with the mech (which happened to me with a Sigelei 20 mech) it's easier to deal with when it's not in my pocket and I'm not distracted by other things and the VV's at least have some protection. Plus carto tanks work better on VV devices and travel easier in my opinion.
