From what I've read I guess some shops are crap like where the employees don't know anything about what they're selling or care. And some are good. I guess I just got lucky and got a good one a couple miles down the road from my house. But I always feel awkward when I go in there because I'm just there to get my stuff and leave. I've even been invited to stay and hang out before but I don't know I guess I'm more of the loner type lol.

Yes, I can't tell you how akward and uncomfortable I feel in *some* vape shops.

I'm not a prude by any means but I'm not a fan either of having the clerk suggest something like "My wifes last orgasm" e-liquid or something along those lines. But what I've also learned from my vaping experience is that I do not judge the clerk by his appearance. We found a vape shop (2 actually) out in the sticks one day on our 150 mile trek home and stopped in at them.

At the first shop there was one clerk, a big heavy set man with tatoos covering the vast majority of exposed skin, including some on his face. I was about to do an about face upon first glancing on him through the door but decided to take a chance. Turned out this guy was like a giant teddy bear, nice as could be, didn't talk "gangsta" and was so full of knowledge. He was thrilled with vaping and wanted to turn everybody onto it. He even let us vape on his own personal device (using our own drip tips of course) so that we could experience truer flavors to the liquids as he replaced the wick and burned off the coil between changing flavors for us (of course we could have used the sample atomizers too).

The second store that we found was also full of rough looking characters but they couldn't have been nicer. They took their time to answer all the questions we came up with and there was never any pressure. However there is one store that is local to us that we just feel uncomfortable going into as every time that we have tried to visit there the place is like a fog machine is running. The shop is very very hot and there is no fan to blow the fog around. The people behind the counter seem nice enough although they lack patience. It's just very uncomfortable for me to go into a vape shop that is thick in vapor. I'm seriously not talking about a little vapor hanging around but when you walk into a shop and literally it's like they have a Hollywood film style fog machine going off, that's how thick the vapor is, that just makes me uncomfortable.

I much prefer going into a shop that is clean, has the AC on and maybe a fan as well to help disperse the vapor from the customers a bit better. There is one in our town called Vape On (no website, but I think they have a facebook page) that is all that... knowledgeable family, friendly, decent enough prices for a B&M store, and never has it ever been a fog machine style store inside. I love this lady's store and I feel comfortable enough to sit on one of the bar stools and idle away the hours talking with her, her husband and or their son.

I went to a new (new to me) store a few miles away a couple weekends ago to pick up an RSST that they had listed on their website for something like $10 and when I produced a printout of the page on their website showing the price the clerk came back with one and said it was their last one, take a look at it. I looked briefly and bought it. I got home, took it out of the box and found out that it had been used, as there was still a couple drops of liquid in the tank and on the bottom plate that holds the tank. That made me feel really uncomfortable to know that they'd sell me a used atomizer without saying it was such. My guess is that they didn't want to honor their own website price so they sold me a return. Being that I was new to Genesis style tanks I didn't know what to look for, the rolled up steel mesh wick already inserted should have been a dead give away but I figured they must all come like that. Live and learn. Into the vodka bath with all of it and then a wipe down with rubbing alcohol just for good measure. Won't be returning to that store... EVER.

I usually only feel awkward when the clerk treats me as if I'm a fifth grader when I ask questions. When they treat me like that I treat them to my closed wallet and wait until I am near home to go to my favorite store even if I'm going to pay more. If I ask a newbie question it's because I don't know the answer and I don't want to be treated like a 5 year old with their response. So, usually though I just feel uncomfortable in *some* stores but I've felt a bit awkward in some other stores where the clerks lack patience or want to treat a newbie to something to do with vaping as a 5 year old.

Anyway, can't judge the book by the cover as I've seen at those two stores that we found out in the sticks.

Oh and my favorite vape shop nearby doesn't charge anything to rebuild atomizers. The shop down the street from them that is full of fog said they charge $5 per rebuild, and that's just the coil, if you have a Genesis and need a new stainless steel mesh they charge extra for that. The favorite shop just considers it part of doing business I suppose and customer goodwill and all that. Not that I need them to rebuild my RSST, I can do that, but I've been in there when I was having problems with my build and they just asked if I minded if they simply rebuild it instead of trying to figure out why it was having problems. No charge. I know it's a small thing, as the wire to do it couldn't cost more than a few pennies for them but it's the little things like this that will keep me going back to her to buy my liquids and when I get ready to buy a Provari it's her shop that I'll go to.

There's always going to be good shops and bad shops and unfortunately you usually have to find that out yourself. Yelp helps in some cases but it's not always reliable. But for the most part you shouldn't feel like you have to be a vape master just to go into a shop! I have people come into my store everyday that don't know what vaping is or how it works and ones that come in showing me these super crazy build or explaining ohm theories for box mods. No matter what level your at you shouldn't be ashamed, we're all learning new things about vaping everyday.

I completely understand. I feel totally awkward going into my local vape shop. Im pretty new to vaping so I feel like I know nothing. Ibought a kangertech t3d tank and it leaked from the moment I got it home. I waited a whole week to take it back so someone could go with me definitely dont wanna go by myself. Then they made me feel as though theres no way it could be leaking and it was probably me. Which of course it wasnt. I felt like they were ...... that I had interrupted whatever video game they were playing while trying to see who could get the biggest cloud. Sold me the wrong coils so now I have to go back and exchange them but only til I can find someone to go with me

I'm old enough to remember going to head shops, and it was pretty hard to feel uncomfortable in a head shop. I've been to a few vale shops, just started this week. So far they've all been pretty we'll run, and the staff is patient. I bought a smoov system after trying it out. The guy who took care of me told me that I'll need to find the best juice by trial and error. But there are 6 shops within a 5 mile range so the competition seems to keep them on their toes.

As someone with lots of hobbies I've had that awkward feeling before. I've been vaping for 2 weeks now. I did some research and to my delight one of the better shops (EDF supplier) is literally walking distance from my house. Although I've spent a lot in these two weeks I never felt awkward there and am happy I can get good custom mixed juice, coils etc. right across the street.

On the way to a friends house I stopped at another shop. Also very nice staff. I bought some juice and they threw in a free bottle as a new customer. They made me feel like they wanted my business and I will definitely be back.

I will say I checked both of these places out online before I went. There are dozens of shops down here....none of the others in my area looked worth checking out.

Vape stores were SO awkward/intimidating for me. Why? No idea, weirdest thing. What sucks is that in my case, and I'm sure many others, I would've had a decent set up probably 6 months to a year earlier if I would've been able to get over my fear of walking into a shop and saying, "I don't know anything. I want something good. Please don't rip me off." Lol. Thank god I did!

There are so many shops in the city that I live in. I was hesitant to check them out. especially after I heard some of them work on commission?! I did a good amount of online research and found a shop with multiple locations that does not use a commission pay system. I've only dealt with one employee so far but he was really knowledgable, patient, and appreciative that I was in there. Very cool shop.

Only ever been in one dedicated vape store. The staff seemed knowledgeable on they're products. But they're hardware is limited. A few cig a likes 4 or 5 egos and they said they'll order mods. Handful of accessories each. Decent e liquid selection but only 2 brands. They seem nice and a relaxing store with places to chill. Only 2 of they're staff seem to really know more than what they're selling and the basics.

The biggest problem is they'll try to up sell the heck out of you. Had a buddy tried e cigs a few times of people's. Wanted to get his own. Just something simple 50 or so bucks. They tried telling him that he'd just want to upgrade. That cig a likes are more for a casual or social smoker. He mentioned vaporfi that our friend has and he said ya ya, they're great. This one here is the same without the name so we can sell it cheaper. My buddy spent 150 bucks on an ego, some liquid, extra atomizers, and a case, guy said they're a must so nothing breaks. Thing works good but it's definitely not a vapor find. And got the price could have gotten more online.

One good thing I've heard from people that have used them is they'll fix clean and rebuild anything they sell for almost nothing. Basically parts.

I think I got extraordinarily lucky. There is a shop about four blocks from my apartment. About a week and a half after I got my starter ego kit online I walked in. They were awesome! Instantly made me feel welcome, didn't try to sell me anything but what I went in for (coils), didn't make me feel awkward for being new, and seemed impressed with how much I already knew, thanks to weeks of research here prior to getting started [emoji6] (on my next visit, a quick one for a technical issue, they talked me up to a much more experienced vaper for knowing so much starting out. Made me blush a little, cause I don't know a fraction of the info out there).

I ended up buying a Nautilus Mini and iTaste vv3, because I wanted to step up from the egos. They actually talked me out of an MVP, because I said I want to get a Provari eventually, and not to spend the money in between. I asked if they are getting the eleaf istick in and they are, and suggested that instead of the MVP as a next stepping stone. Prices are straight retail, not the discounts you can get online, but not jacked up, either. They have a huge ejuice selection, as well.

So this week, two and a half smoke free, I went in to get some juices. They greeted me by name. I spent over an hour hanging out, tasting about 20 juices. Found three I adored. They didn't rush me and worked to find just what I would like.

So, yes, I could save money online, and will do so, especially for juices they don't carry and to get my BVC's and Nauties cheaper, but I will continue to shop there as well, to support them and because of their warm welcome and outstanding service.
