rather ask in the vamo thread but apparently I dont know how to get out of the newbie section despite having over 5 posts.. maybe I need new posts like this one and not just replies. Not a huge complain but have always hated teh newbie areas of forums.. it a great place to get bad info.

anyways ignoring my slight rambling..

I recently got a vamo for my girlfriend from vaporbreak.

a couple of questions.

One is it real: my 510 connector is flush with the top, and yet petes busardo's review his is not flush> this means i have to screw a nova tank on it all the way, and then unscrew it slightly for air flow.. this isnt good as it will come unscrewed in her purse.

two batteries. It came with two but I have to use both. I understand this thing can run on just one without the extra spacer.. but when I try to fire up anything at all with just one batt I get error code 02 and it shuts off. 2 batts are fine. IS it just the battery brand? can I buy a different battery to let her use this in short mode? Everyone recommends against stacking... so I am not feeling good about this.

The batteries from Vapor Break are worthless for this kind of mod. Don't use them. The Vamo needs IMR batteries and will take 18650 and 18350. AW IMR, EFest IMR and Panasonic IMR are all good. Here's some links for you or anyone needing good batteries:

AW IMRs
AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh
Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh

Efest IMRs
Batteries : Efest IMR 18650 Button Top
Batteries : Efest IMR 18350 Button Top

Panasonic IMR
Batteries : Panasonic Hybrid/ IMR CGR18650CH Button Top

You also need a good charger. Exploding battery incidents are often caused by faulty chargers. I wouldn't use the charger from Vapor Break.

Chargers
TR-001s will do the job ok, but take a long time to charge the battery.
The Xstar WPII is a good charger:
Battery Chargers : Xtar WP2 II

Pila also is a good charger:
Battery Chargers : Pila IBC Charger

Vapor Break are hit and miss, and have a reputation for being extremely difficult to make contact with. See this thread:

Nope the status hasn't moved from Payment Accepted. They haven't even processed the damn thing.
Having just read the thread Kiwivap posted, I wouldn't play nice for much longer, it's gone over 10 days, start a case on PayPal, it may take a 30 days for you to get your money back but you will as VBreak have yet to send you an order confirmation or confirmation of shipping and tracking number.
Whatever you choose to do don't wait for too long to take action, you don't want to run out of time with PP.

Bought new Trustfire IMR 800mah batteries.. and still I can not use just one.. I get error 02 and shuts off. Cant find the error codes anywhere.

I had a small flashlight with a much much much stronger spring, and the nice thing was I could fit it over my old spring without taking it off.. It was so tight it was hard to screw the bottom on.. and I still can not fire with only one battery.

SO I am guessing it needs RMA'n

A little insight... I bought my Vamo in a starter kit directly from china over alibaba. The kit came with the same batteries and charger shown on the website you're referencing.

The grey 'special lithium batteries' that ship with the unit have been working just dandy and keeping up with my efect imr batts in stacked mode. I haven't bothered trying them in shorty mode, but as a pair, they function well, and don't die any quicker than the efests.

The charger is a bit futzy, but works ok. I haven't had any hot batteries or any problems. However, it won't stop charging, so I did get one pair come off at a total of 8.5v. You have to stay handy and pull the batteries off when the LED turns greed I guess. An xtar wpII is on my next purchase list to fix that.

I wouldn't replace the spring if I were you. The springs in the V2 have proven to be good if you use button top batteries. The two flat tops in the starter kit are a teeny bit loose, but the button top efests don't shake at all, and the fit is close enough that it can be difficult to get the spring to compress flat enough to get the threading going. OTOH there seems to be problems with replacement springs. At least one website is reporting overheating springs due to resistance - tasteyourjuice has a warning up about it.

May I ask how long it took to receive your order? Mine was shipped 12/8 and still has not arrived. Tracking number was useless as it showed no such package. Inquiries to company received no response either. I'm beginning to think I've been had.

FYI. Seems I read on their site if you ordered juice it would have a long delay. Something or other with customs. Mine was shipped 3 days ago (Jan 6). Hope you get yours soon.

Got my Vamo from OKC Vapes. Very nice group of people and its state side. They only sell the stainless with the stainless buttons. (the pic they have up is old) I had an issue with mine and they shipped me out a new one (priority I might add) just as soon as I sent them they tracking number where I sent it back to them. Got them a tracking # Wednesday at about 4:30pm and had the Vamo in the mail today, Friday. Oklahoma to West Virgina. I will do all the business I can with them because their customer service was so good. I have an Ego-vv from Apollo with an issue and they want it back for inspection before they will ship me a new one. Also you can call them right up during business hours, no chatting or emails.

I got my first one from OKC. My first one also was bad. I called them & they shipped the replacement before I even put mine in the mail. Great service! I got the second one from China cause I didn't mind the wait as it will be a back up. Their site did say if you order juice there would be a lengthy delay. Can't beat 26.95 for the body only.

Yeah, the smaller spring works great in.

Just wanted to chime back in and report that I finally received my order. Shipped on the 6th of December and arrived January 4th. Tracking info finally showed up only when it was delivered to my post office. Now if I can get this DiD rebuildable up and running I'll be in vape heaven.

yeah not going to replace the spring, I just wanted to test, so many people said it might not be making good contact and despite I thought it was contacting just fine I decided to try it.

the charge i got is cheap but ok for what it is. it does turn off when done but I want to replace it with something that scares me less soon.(i just dont want that cheap if I am recharging all the time)

really my only problem is that it wont work in short mode, which I'm guessing most of you can do.. it just flashes and turns off or displays a 02 and then turns off. Doesnt matter if I am VV or VP. Doesnt matter 1.5 ohm or 3 ohm or several ohms between. Doesnt matter what volt or watt i vape at.. just will not fire anything with a single battery. :( sigh I dont mind two but I worry what else might be wrong with it.. if i am even hitting the power levels it says it is.

anyone rma'd with them? how was that experience? I do see they are hard to contact.

I would recommend checking what sort of batteries come with any kit. While batteries may work in a mod, if they are unprotected Li-ions you increase the safety risk. This is from the ECF guide Rechargeable Batteries. That guide was put together carefully by a group of people, and this list applies to APVS.
Rechargeable batteries

We now advise that Li-Mn or top-quality Li-FePo4 rechargeables are used in APVs, in preference to rechargeable Li-ions. We suggest the best option, in order, is:

1. AW IMR Li-Mn rechargeables.
2. AW Li-FePo4 rechargeables [Li-FePo4's MUST HAVE A SPECIAL CHARGER]. Note that these batteries are mostly 3 volt nominal so the system voltage will be lower than normal.
3. Good quality (such as AW or Pila) protected Li-ion rechargeables.
4. Branded protected Li-ions come next - such as xxxfire Li-ion rechargeables (for xxx insert Trust / Sure / Ultra-).
5. The least-preferable option is a generic protected Li-ion.
6. Unprotected rechargeable Li-ion cells should not be used.
7. Standard cells (non-rechargeable) should not be used.

If an IMR Li-MN does have a meltdown it will vent, and release gases. An unprotected Li-ion will explode.

The whole page is a good read. They put some time into it.

Just did that.

I'm just going to stick to HC next time.

Their blanket silence really s**ts me. Customer Service 101 - don't ignore your customers and pretend they don't exist.

After having filed a claim with Paypal I received a refund from Vaporbreak with a note saying they can't ship the liquids. That is the first and only response I ever got back from them, most likely as a direct result of the Paypal claim. I'm not going within two mouseclicks of that web site again.

They did have a notice on their site stating the order would have a lengthy delay if you purchase juice in the order. I had some juice in my cart when I read the notice at which time I deleted the juice.

You have a spring issue (02 = Low Voltage {AKA-Spring})
Another place for a replacement spring is Replacement ProVari Spring (less expensive also...)

Poor Quality control on your batch for the threaded head. These issues do not mean they are not actual VAMO's. I have 2 from Vapor Break and both are fine.

The Chinese postal system is not nearly as organized as ours. Their scanners miss the tracking barcodes which causes the tracking glitches. They also open and inspect packages often which cause delays.

Don't order from VaporBreak if you can't deal with delays or the need to be a little forceful them if things go south.

Other than those things, you can't beat their prices!
