No it is not. If you get a current version all the batteries fit fine. its perfectly okay to stack 18350 as well. Many people including me have with no issues plus it says right in the literature that its perfectly fine. Go for the smoktek version and you will have no problems.

Protected batteries do not work in Vamo or Bamboo

Went over to the SmokTek office and picked up my new spring last week and im really luvin my Vamo.....i just wish i didn't have to use an adapter for my T3....but i still have my stainless ego vv so ill just use it on there. i just picked up a stainless kanger M-T3 and that looks pretty good on there.

Now all i need is a mod for each of my 2 vivi Novas lol....oh and another for my Original kanger T3.

I think im addicted!!

Recently moved from 2 EGO Twist to a chrome Vamo. Still use the Twists for when I'm on the run with some wick modified Vivi Novas but most of the time, I just Vamo! Might get a stainless steel one when my local shop gets some. Yes, a walk in brick & mortar store just opened in Montreal.

Only issue I had with the Vamo is that it's slippery and often falls from standing position. I noticed it's OD is 22.2mm (7/8"), the exact OD of BMX and some moutain bikes. Got my hands on some old BMX grips and use them on the Vamo. One could dress the whole PV with cool grips. I just go for top & bottom. Was glad they where on when the Vamo fell down the concrete stairs. Rubber protected it. Boing boing boing. :)

Here's a picture of my chrome Vamo with the grips on and a DID clone with clear tank.

Please IMR Batteries in your Vamo's. ICR's are Not recommended for use in a Vamo.

For a Vamo you want IMR batteries, not protected. IMRs have safer chemistry and are designed to handle high drain.
An IMR 18650 is the long size, and an IMR 18350 the short size. The lifespan will depend on the number of charge cycles, which is about 500 charges. Generally you would replace them after a year.

A lot of people get the batteries and chargers from RTD Vapor. Here's what you would need:

Charger:
Battery Chargers : Xtar WP2 II

Any of these batteries - two of whichever brand:
18605s
AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh
or
Batteries : Efest IMR 18650 Button Top
or
Batteries : Panasonic Hybrid/ IMR CGR18650CH Button Top

18350s:
Batteries : AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700mAh
or
Batteries : Efest IMR 18350 Button Top

If you want to know more about batteries I suggest reading the ECF guide:

I have had my SS Vamo for about a week and love it.
:DWas using a Vision Spinnner with a Vivi Nova, Kanger T3, and rebuildable Stardust. The Vamo was a big difference from the Spinner. I feel that it gives more punch to what ever your delivery system is. Switched over to a carto tank and with the Vamo it just seems to bring out the flavor of the ejuices I use.

going nuts waiting on VAPEMAIL

don't we all?

but on topic i own 3 VAMO's my first had the crappy little spring and the second 2 were from a store locally that came in a box labelled as "eGo VV/VW APV" they are v2 and come with the beefier spring the one that utilizes the full space in the bottom cap, good stiff spring and 18650's fit perfectly as well as stacked 350's

i suggest the VAMO to anyone looking to break into mods that is more interested in using their carto tanks and clearos and certain RBA's

(on an off topic note, waiting for the smok Natural to get here for my AGA T2 :D cant wait for that vapemail!)
