the camera is suppose to work without the lens,so that would be the last step to follow,only some dirty on the lens contact could be affecting but I gess that s not your problem if you are not a pro you have not reason to remove the lens. what else it could be I don't know.Sorry I could't help you.

I posted this on a few forums and many suggested they think the shutter is a goner..
It is going to cost me 190.00 flate rate fix from Cannon..and 8.00 shipping. at least it is not 400!! still a cramp in my side!
